Who's excited that it's football season? I'm excited! Are you excited?
Indianapolis fan here! The Colts looked a little wobbly today, but the Raiders were kind enough to throw the game away at the last second. Hopefully they'll smooth things out for next week.
I, unfortunately, only watched the first half of the Broncos/Ravens game on Thursday. That would be the half before Peyton Manning merged with the collective soul of all quarterbacks before him and became even more of a passing machine than usual.
Looking forward to all three of the later games tonight, especially to see how Bruce Arians does with his very own team. It's gonna be a good season, folks!

That's why the grocery store was so empty today, there must have been a Pats game on.
Tennis is my sport, so I'm watching the US Open Finals right now. Serena and Azarenka are tied in the third set, a good match so far.

handegg or football?

But, if I know how the football season works, it's still going on. Never really stops, does it?
You know what I want to see? Competitive Capture the Flag.
Actually, nevermind. I want to see Ender's game. But that's a bit harder.

I think he means handegg, or as I like to call it, 'Rugby for wimps'.

Here is my favorite quote on rugby:

Yeah put any NFL team against the Allblacks in a tussle and see who comes out on top. Rugby players don't need padding.

Yeah, I forgot how many Europeans play this game. :P
Look, I'm all for a "Whose blood sport has the most stupidly suicidal athletes in the pursuit of our amusement" contest, but if we could please keep this from becoming a "Whose blood sport has the most stupidly suicidal athletes in the pursuit of our amusement" contest? I live in a rural town, I get enough misplaced nationalism just by going to the grocery store.
Although, it's not like I've gotten any real replies. >_>

I am actually American but I have no interest in football, fütball, or rugby. I have a hard time getting invested in a game I am not actually playing. Back when I worked retail I loved working Superbowl Sunday. My co workers treated me as a hero for taking their shifts, and nobody would come into the store so I sat around and drew stuff on scratch paper.

I'm one of the few nerds who, apparently, also enjoys sports. Though baseball is by far my sport of choice, I'm also a long time 49ers fan, so I'm pretty happy with how week 1 ended :)

Not sure why Europeans feel the need to tell everyone about how much better rugby is every time a football thread is created on a forum. I'm sure rugby is awesome; feel free to create a rugby thread and talk about your shorts and lack of padding. Not even calling out people in this thread specifically, every internet forum I've ever used I've seen the same thing. Genuinely have no idea why rugby fans try so hard to compensate, but if you have no interest in discussing football, you could just, y'know, not post.
Huge Patriots fan, they gave everyone quite a scare but managed to pull off the win against the Bills, thankfully. Looking forward to an entertaining home opener against the Jets.

Huge Patriots fan [...]
So, what's it like on Team Evil? ;D
In all seriousness, I think this is shaping up to be a good season. Lots of good teams in the mix, plus some fun match-ups to look forward to. I'm sorta excited about the Colts/Broncos game in October, but I'm also not looking forward to all of the pre-game chatter from the talking heads. I mean, the Broncos are almost certainly going to win, but they'll make it out to be some sort of referendum on the Colts' decision to drop Manning two years ago. (which, though painful, was the right call. And now I have two teams to root for!)

Giants fan, and yes i know they did horrible in their first game. 6 turnovers ouch.
Anyway kinda excited for Manning vs Manning.

Even though I'm more of a LAX person, I'm going for my Chargers all the way :)
...even though we lost to the Texans, it was a good start for us with this new coach.

Can never put too much faith in Rivers :-/

Out of MA here, ready for another Patriots season though I didn't catch any of the news on the lineup, or what the league looks like this year. I've been a passive observer for years, was never in the country long enough to get into it, but now 2 years and no moving I think I should get back into the meat of it.
So ya, pretty excited, looking forward to doing cookouts at a bud's place while watching the games.
