what does the new differculty choice mean during game? :|

It's not exactly a choice. It just indicates to new players how advanced different ships/maps are. For example, the Pyramidion is a more beginner-friendly ship than the Squid.

ahh cheers :) i thought it was about like the size of the map and the bigger the more differcult

It's spelled "difficulty" and "difficult," just fyi.
