When the captain is in captain-voice chat please make their name appear in a different colour. This will let the crew know that the captain isn't ignoring them.
I think this would add to the realism/authenticity of the game :)

I vote a chain icon. It will stand for the chain of command. The chain the captain gets out and beats the crew with till they realize whos in command! :D

Usually the size of my hat and my commanding tones are enough to remind the crew who is in charge, but I keep that chain close by just in case. As for the OP's suggestion I usually find saying "Shut up I am talking to the other captain" enough to remind the crew that I have to deal with more than one com channel.
-
All joking aside, this has been suggested before, and I think is still a great idea.
Popping up the Captains name from the ally ship when they're talking for the crew to see and putting it in another color are great ideas. This way no one talks over one another.

I have one of those too!
As for the original post, I concur. I've found myself having my crew, the ally captain, and someone in real life, all talking to me at the same time. While this wouldn't fix the outside interference, it'd certainly help in-game.

This is a great idea!
The captains chat icon should be a chain, the party chat icon should be a party hat!
-
Yes, yes, and yes.
I agree with all things here.

because a party hat implies cake ?

Admitidly, the thought crossed my mind.
But icon differences are WAY better than the color differences I originally wanted.
-
what if we get both at the same time, 100% guarantee no confusion
-
Why, they would sit next to each other.
I'd hope nobody could mistake a chain for a speaker, or party hat for a chain.
Overlapping them might cause issues, but I think you should only even be able to talk on a single chat at once.

Easy to implement and much needed for pug matches!

When the captain is talking to his crew automute the other crewmembers :x
Let the normal Talk-Icon stay. And if the captain is talking to his fellow captains, make it a big circle with a "C" in it.
Do you know if you can talk in two channels simultaneously? Sometimes I feel stupid because I say two times in a row the same thing but with my finger on the other button.
