For many Of us We were children when we made our first user name on websites and games. And a lot of them Are really funny.
For laughs Lets share some of our childhood user names and describe why as a child you chose that name. if you Like You can post the site/game you used it on.
Username: Digidood92
Site: Neopets
I was 8 when I first was introduced to this site and thought it was awesome. I was a huge fan of digimon at the time and thought the "92" Sounded cool because it kinda rhymed. And yes before anyone asks It was a misspelling of "Dude" And no it was not Intentional.
I wasn't a very intelligent kid

Plastic_tropical_fish, which I used for the early days of yahoo, especially back when yahoo chat channels still existed (I was like 12-13 at the time, so back in like what... '97-'98? Using Windows 3.11 :D)
Why? Because for some reason I had a box of plastic tropical fish.

My first nickname I used for internet gaming was *DUN DUN DUUUUUN* Mill Wilkinson.
It was a random name I generated using Neverwinter Nights' Aurora toolset for an NPC. Then I needed a name for Urban Dead, and tah-da, the name came up again, and has been used ever since. ^^
-
SuperMaokeyMan(some numbers) shut up I couldn't spell monkey. Also on neopets, because I wanted that monkey neopet. Then it basically got the flu and I kept feeding it poison.
Then ducky21.
-
violent_fighter(random number insert here) days of big point.........
-
Keon started with Terraria, at "Kieon" and then in flash games simplified to "Keon" then to "KeonSkyfire"
-
DarkEeveePoke
I don't even remember the site but it was a pokemon based iIRC...
-
Kraikken was my very first username, AOL, don't remember how long ago it was.
... Don't google it, it'll take you on a strange and weird adventure.
-

LOL, same here. My first internet nickname was Ric Simane which I still use since this day. Funny thing is that the NWN random name generator created not Ric Simane but Ric Siamne, but I kept reading it as "Simane" all the time and when I noticed the mistake it was already used to saying it as "Simane". The nick name was used on my first Internet forum I've joined gehenna.fora.pl.
Or maybe my first nickname was marchewforever which I used as my first e-mail ever xD. Oh, and "marchew" means "carrot" xD.
-
Rockclimbe13/Rockclimber (can't even remember how I dropped the R. Probably a mix of lack of availability, name length restrictions, and creativity) from Diablo 2. Kept that name all the way until this year when I started using GrimWinter/GrimGlacies
-
Falcord. It was my acc name for Diablo 2.
Thought I had created it myself, but apparently I pulled it out of my subconscious, because years later I re-watched an episode of Dexter's Laboratory in which one of the characters had that name...
-
chronos1112 for about every game but this one
-
Sakeriel, started in D2... lots of folks seem to be starting up in that era :D I only moved to Chrinus because of the long backstory behind that name and before its use as a handle. Basically, the roles played no longer suit the character.
-
sonictale was my AOL screen name, because I liked Sonic and Tails but didn't want numbers, so I just changed the spelling when sonictails/sonictail was taken. Hedgehog64 was my RuneScape username, again because of Sonic, 64 just because I loved the N64. I think my first AIM screen name was lilscotty1116. Not even going to try to justify that one.
-
I can remember that my first email address was with one of the freeservers, the Colarado one I think.. that would have been back in '92. But I haven't a clue what online pseudonym I was using at the time. I do remember that we didn't get issued email addresses at Uni until my second year, and that was only if you requested one - hence the freeserve address for registering with such classic sites as Monochrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monochrome_BBS), Foothills and Surfers.
-
Lead Poisoning from Unreal Tournament, later changed to Twinkie D-Lite when I played Combat Flight Simulator online. That was when you could customize your planes and Twinkie the Kid fit nicely on my tail rudder.
-
The Earliest one was from Toon town which was "Kingcrazymacgoose" which then was shortened to "Kingcrazymac" when I played club penguin. Once I got steam it was "qecman"
-
don't really know which on was first but...
erik117: my name is Erik... and I was, and am, a great Halo nerd (though I'm not as keen as to where the series has turned in the nearest time)
erik1121: my name is, once again, Erik... a long ago my friend was helping me create a steam account, and since erik was taken he just punched in a random set of numers. Now it has become my usual set of sexy ass numbers.
Sirion: don't really remember how I came up with this one.. but it was waaay back, for some medieval game
-
For me it was kamikaze711 and it was for minecraft (I tried to thing of something oriental or asain but this was the only nor that came up). The only thing funny that came out of that name was when ever I fell to my death from great heights it usually pops up on scree as
"kamikaze711 hit the ground too hard."
-
coldcurse
game: runescape (when it wasnt filled with bots)
-
Pretty sure mine was SheepBalloon... hey man, I wanted nothing to do with those numbers. I think it was AOL IM, but I'm pretty sure I used netscape's client. Lolz netscape.
Now I feel old.
But Plasmarobo has been my identity since the first year of Highschool. Yeah, it was also an AIM thing, but then I was like "this is unique and I don't hate myself." so it sorta stuck.
-
Before the net and in Marathon LAN games I was simply nicknamed Cougar. Fell in love with mountain lions as a kid and it stuck, specially as school added to that feeling of being more solitary. Had friends but didn't have friends. Changing school districts added to that.
Then Unreal Tournament came and I got the net. Took a name from an Aliens action figure I saw in a store, NightCougar, and it became my call sign for the next decade, and still is although more commonly cut down to NC37 because of morons...thank you very much Del Taco jerkbags for that stupid Cougar campaign which "educated" the bottom feeders of gaming. If only there was a "report abuse" button back then in games...sigh.
-
TracyJackson was my first and still only ign for gaming...in fact, for pretty much anything really.
Tracy= from Tracy McGrady, former Houston Rockets player
Jackson= my maternal grandmother's maiden name, she worked as a legal aide to the UN Sec. General for 8 years and at the Pentagon for another 15...inspired me to want to become a lawyer

First user name EVER was on RuneScape. It was BobBongBob1. I was in the second grade, and I wanted it to be Bob BOING Bob like the onomatopoeia for a ball bouncing, but I spelled it wrong. Also I didn't even NEED to put the one, I just added it because I was stupid and in second grade. So people ended up thinking I was a stoner because my name was bobBONGbob everywhere.
Eventually I realized that that was a stupid name and I started going by MitchBoojah, because that's what Jace(my brother) used in everything. We played alot of XBoy back then he was JaceBoojah I was MitchBoojah his girlfriend was RenneBoojah so everyone knew we were together. After watching Trigun (which is an anime, I recommend watching it) the main character's name is Vash, I loved the sound of the name and loved the anime, so I would put my name as Vash... Vash was taken on almost everthing, and I didn't want to be a VASH1233423546475763487652. So the way I got the Fight Boy is that I was doing community service that had to do with Acting, and I would tell people my name is Vash if they didn't know me for fun, and people kept suggesting the Fight Boy character to me. "Vash should be Fight Boy, Fight Boy Vash" FIGHTBOYVASH
That was long and not completely on topic, but there's the story of my name and my first gaming names.
-
I find this topic to be really amusing.
My first online account was for AOL in '99: SailorJ18. It was after Sailor Jupiter and my jersey number for soccer. My first handle for videogames was Shukketsushi. I can't really say why, at 14, I decided "death by blood loss" was a good name, but... At least it's not popular. I've only run into a few other people who use it, some guy and a weeaboo that likes Inuyasha.

Who the hell actually likes that show?

Who the hell actually likes that show?
If you're talking to me, I was in fifth grade. So, I guess fifth graders do.
-
Who the hell actually likes that show?
Barenaked Ladies liked it "Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon cuz that cartoon has got the boom anime babes that make me think the wrong thing"
-
Who the hell actually likes that show?
No joke, in my Junior High, there was a Sailor Moon club, the girls came dressed in Sailor cosplay outfits to school on a regular basis. And yes, there were many a-stares.

THIS IS NOW A SAILOR MOON THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-
I blame Shinkurex for making this a Sailormoon thread.
Ok so my first username was for Steel Battalion. A guy I was playing with was joking because I was an insane driver and said "You're like a Steel Jesus you walk into 5 enemies and come out the otherside alive!"
So Steel Jesus stuck but it gets banned nowadays for being too "religious"
-
Hmm, I've only had 2-3 usernames, and then I've used them for everything. When I was younger I used to go by Wyvern, a word I picked up from Monster Hunter, which I became pretty obsessed with at the time. With that I played for a couple of years, until I wanted a change ('I'm a big boy now!' was probably a motivator. That, and I was jealous that people had more original usernames)
I think I picked up Wazulu in a music lesson quite a few years ago, when we had to learn about African dance. I use it for its originality (I believe there are only 2-3 others who use it to a large scale) and its sheer adaptability.

I blame shink for this, I used Lt. Tibbles occasionally

Considering that there's a guy out there who goes by Yoloswagjesus, I think it'd be fine for GoIO :P
-
True enough :P But it got renamed in PS2, Hawken, WoT, Warthunder, Star Citizen, etc etc etc etc. lol I even tried to say its pronounced "hay-zeus" but yeah they wouldn't believe it.
-
Who the hell actually likes that show?
what? I thought it looked cool
-
Then ducky21.
Was that before you joined em?
-
The first username I ever had was uh.. timmymonsta101. I was 13 and I was signing up for runescape and lo and behold I couldn't fit in the entire word of monster. I was pretty stupid at the time and even though I hate the name I can't really think of anything else to use. (Not to mention it's not really viable now to change names)
-

I was flying with Cullen a few days ago; YoloSwagJesus was on my crew and JesusLizard was on his crew.
We called ourselves "The Holy Red Team."
-Edit- I think Piemanlives was there too, but he was on the Heathen Blue Team.
-
plk123
Dad used to call me that without the 123 bit. plk = Pesky Little Kid xD
Well I THINK that was my first username. It was either that or I remember from club penguin days my username used to be "TheSavage1" because Savage is my last name. But now I know that nothing beats Cheesy Crackers :P
