With all the recent news on Dragon Age Inquisition, I'm so hyped ! So I decided to buy Dragon Age : Origins and Dragon Age II again, but this time on PC, mod them to the death and play the sh*t out of them !

Oh man, I read all that stuff and Inquisition looks very good. I was super excited to learn that you can roll a dwarf in it, like in DA:O. Unlike a lot of folks, I really did enjoy Dragon Age II for the much more personal story, but I always missed being able to play as a dwarf.
I may have to go back and play both of those again myself...
-
Really loved Origins, but if Inquisition is anything like the second one then I'm not touching it with a ten feet pole...
Just bought "Running with Rifles". An isometric tactical/strategic shooter (basically Arma in a top-down view). Haven't had time to play too much yet, but from what I have it's really fun. Gotta get into the multiplayer a bit.
Oh, and a friend got me back playing M&B: Warband again. Downloaded this mod called "Full Invasion2". Really fun and variable. Basically it's horde mode with a hell of a lot of different factions. Spanning from more regular swadians, japanese, greeks, to skeletons, orcs (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=174958803), elves, WW2/modern weaponry (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=174961448) zombies ...and ponies (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=174969412)
...oh and Naval battles (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=174615979) ..we sank (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=174616067)
-
ponies. Of course.
-
Wish I owned M&B, I had so much fun in the demos, sadly I have no money....

Think I got an 'ol copy lying in my inventory from a steam sale, like 4 bucks. Got it for a friend or trading or something, but for some reason I think it's still here. If I find it you can have it.
-
We're talking about Warband right? If so that'd be great, not that the original isn't, it's a lot of fun. Warband is just the better of the two.

If you're interested in some Dragon Age Inquisition Gameplay :)
I'm so glad they decided to bring back the other races for us to chose from, AND they added Qunari, which is badass !

What?! My games aren't good enough for ya? I'm just kidding, yeah it's Warband. Have to double check that I still have it once I get home though.
As for DA3. Well, DA2 and ME3 left a sour taste taste in my mouth. I'll remain sceptical but who knows. It might surpise me.

I will take any warband copies people might have as well.
-
I should have bought more copies back then eh?
Pondering over whether I should buy Rome 2 or not. My time/sense is saying me not to. But then again, I might not just listen.
Oh and after a bit of playing I can gladly recommend "Running with Rifles". Like a match up of Arma and Endless war it is, as said, an Isometric tactical/strategic shooter. You play 2-3 teams for territorial domination, and besides the actual online players you'll have a whole load of bots for each team, making up the back-bone of the fighting. These will of course be under your command once you gain rank, as well as calling in artillery/parachute/vehicle supports. I think the maximun player count (with bots) were about 800, but then the fights gets really flooded.
-
Yeah, buy me more copies, Sgt. Spoon. :P
Anyways, I finally got into the Leauge of Legends craze. It's a fun game, I'll give it that.
-
Adding A few meself: Just finished Shadow of the Colossus yesterday. It's that 16th colossus, man!
Going to give Ico another swing.
AAAAAAAAAAAND Super Mario Sunshine.
-
I want to play a good fighter game.
But not one that's gonna require hours memorizing combos.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Sunshine was a great game. Imo galaxy was even better, but still ranked pretty high.
-
Well, I suck at both, AND the 2d Mario platformers. So that's going to be fun!

I'll just take it the same way I took the others...
"Who cares...Eevees still exist."
...also
October 9th, I'm not going to be really playing a game, but more like LARPing as a Viking...because...
Leif Ericson Day...

While I admit the series hasn't really gotten back to Emerald levels of awesome for a while (4th gen sucks), X and Y do actually look awesome.

Emerald was really good, I agree.
Seems like every time they advertise a bunch of new stuff, but really the game doesn't change much, and you end up with some clones of the previous gen. There are so many ways they could shake it up, but the tried and true formula sells, and they'll keep making money off of it...
-
You gotta remember who their target audience is.
-
You gotta remember who their target audience is.
Japanese people and White Kids?
Also
been playing a lot of Red Steel 2....
-
You gotta remember who their target audience is.
Yeah, as I was gonna mention, as long as more and more kids keep on coming in to buy their games, there isn't much of a point in changing the formula. I guess I can't fault them for doing good business.
-
I currently have a GBA emulator on my PC and i play pokémon emerald and wait for it...........................................................
MONSTER RANCHER
If any of you people remember this show i will love you. there is a GBA game you can play where you own a monster and fight it against the others. i am ridiculously addicted to this game!!!!!!

Sure that's not pokemon? Sure sounds like it.
That said, I have high hopes for X and Y. We'll see. You know what there needs to be? Pokemon Kart! Also Pokemon spin-off RTSes. oooh, or pokemon FPS games?
-
I lost completly touch with pkm. My last one was pkm silver and after that I have no clue what happened.
I mean what the fuck is this

^ Now that I can agree with. I only ever did own Pokemon Yellow, and Sapphire. Now that and earlier I can remember, but I'm not even sure what's even going on these days. Though if they ever made a Leaf/fire green/red 2 then that would be something I'd get.
-
I have to say, it wasn't the repetitive formula that drove me away- I can deal with a lot of "the same, but with x", as long as the "same" is good enough- it was the awful designs for the newer Pokemon. All of the first generation looked a lot like actual animals. Or, at least, actual enough animals. Except for the psychic types- which worked. Generation II wasn't too bad, except for the legendary ones most stuff still looked fairly reasonable. After that...they all looked like an intro to graphic design class threw up on them.
I don't know if they were trying to establish more of an overall "look" for Pokemon, but they're just...awful. Even the most "normal" ones still look like animals with bits stuck on them.
-
Found some time to play Warband, good times, good times.
-
Pokémon yellow was amazing! To have pikachu behind you telling you how much he/she hates/likes/loves you made it feel so special. I'm 21 and still enjoy the oldies of pokémon. Playing yellow was good because you had Pikachu and Gary had Evee instead of. oh you picked Bulbasaur? well then charmander for me.

I slapped that spoiled little snotty-nosed brat across his face with my squirtle every time his charmander tried to harrass me.

Kerbal Space Program and Natural Selection 2.
oh both good games

Five pages in and no one has mentioned Payday 2? It's a four man crew game that rewards teamwork and communication. Been having a blast playing with my GoIO crew.
Yes, the AI is a bit atrocious, and the game is fairly repetitive, but these are things that a GoIO veteran probably isn't opposed to. The grind factor, half-crafting system, and the somewhat random nature of each map spawn do help to alleviate some of the repetition.
Then again, I'm only about 10hrs into it, and still very low level. Perhaps it will get boring quicker than I'm expecting.
Seriously, though, for $30, it's a great game. (Friends required, sold separately.) It's still new, but when it gets a Steam sale, there is no excuse for not picking it up. Runs like butter on my oldish system, too.

Think Zill mentioned it in that other game thread. Haven't really checked it out too much, but the analogy people used to refer the first one with: "L4D 'cept the zombies have guns" haven't exactly been helping. Though I guess I should look more into it before going all judgemental on it, and I guess it could be the epitome of gaming for all I know
-
I have only played GoIO since i got it, I'm completely hooked.
GTA5 soon though...
-
I wandered back into Mass Effect 3's multiplayer and have been enjoying it. I mean, I enjoyed it before, but it's still fun now. The random unlocks are a little annoying, but only because they've added so many class/race combos (and don't stop giving you old ones) that your chance of getting the one you actually want is very low. And that it takes four Silver-level matches to get enough credits to buy all the good packs. Grrr.
But, it's very fun to play. If anyone else plays Mass Effect 3, hit me up on Origin (my ID name is Eukimi, because Eukari was already taken, what the heck) and let's kill some Geth/Reapers/Cerberus/Collectors!
-
TOMB RAIDER!!!! My family is obliged to call me Lara. On second thought, you guys are also expected to do so from now on.
-
I'd never played any Metal Gear Solid game before. But after watching the gameplay demo for MGS 5, which looks fucking awesome, I decided to get into the franchise. I only started recently and am still working my way through MGS 1, but so far I'm liking it.
If there's one thing that always makes me laugh it's the game over screen when one of the operators goes,
"Snake? SNAKE!? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEEEEEE!!!!!"
-

Metal Gear Solid is my favorite game series of all time.
You're in for a treat, my friend.
-
BUT DAVID HAYTER ISN'T VOICING SNAKE IN MGS5!!! KOJIMA HAS BETRAYED US! SNAKE IS NOT THE GUY FROM 24!
-
Call me crazy, but I trust Hideo Frikin' Kojima.
Wondering where this will go, and excited for release.
-
*Insert fan rage here*
On another note I've been meaning to try out the new Warframe update, should get around to that sometime.
-
Far Cry 3 is all I'm playing right now (as well as GOI) thanks to having loads of work...
-
Been playing more on my PS2 lately so I've been playing most of my old Ace Combat games and bowing stuff up in GTA San Andres with the oh-so helpful cheats :P
I don't know if this be categories as a big time game, but there this app on the iPad called Battleship Craft where you make your own ship of war using blocks. It is surprisingly addictive for me wanting to perfect a new ship and then you can test it out by battling other people online.
-
So it's Minecraft with a decent Zeppelin Mod installed? I'll have to check that out. Speaking of voxels, starmade has huge potential to become an amazing game and I've been playing it a lot lately.
-
A friend introduced me to War Thunder. I actually like flying tier 0 crap aircraft. The focus on ground attack is a refreshing change from turning dogfight 24/7. It is not as team centric as Guns of Icarus, and the lack of voice chat is quite annoying. The best way to get kills and avoid being killed is to shoot some one while they are trying to shoot something else and get your teammate to shoot the guy who is trying to shoot you.
-
oh yeah War Thunder is really satisfying to play, even though I'm still struggling with the full-realism mode
-
The thing that turned me off of War Thunder was ramming.
That said, in Star Conflict, you can ram and not insta-pop, and its in spaceeeeee.
-
There was ramming?
-
If you have a PS3, I highly highly suggest picking up Puppeteer. It's a platformer game, but very rewarding, and fantastic writing.
-
As a bit of a 4x fan I recommend Distant Worlds, it's a bit expensive to get all the expansions, but it is best played with the expansions.
-
There was ramming?
As in, if you got the upper hand on someone, they would try to ram you with their plane, taking both of you out. It was pretty lame and common.
-
I can see how that could be an annoying gimmick.
-

That's what Barrel rolls, snap rolls, and s-turns are for...right?
But that's always the problem with combat flight sims...
-
Hah yeah, the arcade mode can get quite "rammy" to say the least. I don't really mind though as that game-mode is so unrealistic to begin with. More like Crimson Skies than a flight sim.
It's funny how people (me included) value kills more than their own life. Though if you ram correctly (/have a shit ton of luck), only one of you dies.
-
Crimson Skies is a great game.
-
Indeed it is, I might have to re-install it on my newest PC
-
I'm attempting to play outlast for the youtubes. It scares me. I scream a lot.
-
For the youtubes? Are you doing a Let's Play? I've watched one of outlast already. The guy blubbered like a baby and had the widest, most fear filled eyes I've ever seen in a gamer.
Pretty great :p
-
Outlast is really disappointing though... A shame, as one or two parts were REALLY good :/.

Since my once wide spectrum of interesting games has been rapidly draining I don't realy play much, the only other game other than GoIO that I play right now is World of Tanks.
Thing about this game is.. and I know it's an arcade, but the 'Historical accuracy' a bit too far off even for an arcade game, I mean, Crusader tanks put up against KV-1S tanks and god knows what else. The most annoying part by far is the existance of health bars, so I'm looking forward to War Thunder actually implementing ground forces, I'm certain they will not have health bars there.
Looking forward to World of Warships though, realy pumped for a real naval combat game (even if arcady, it's on water at least!), I'm hoping it will play like Battlestations.
-
With the Xcom free weekend I finally got a friend to start playing. Time for some awesome turn based fighting!
...if they'd just released a bit more MP maps -.-
-
I have dug into the world of Terraria recently...
*cricket*
So anyways, with the 1.2 update out there, I am just digging it.
*cricket*
I've sort of tunnel-visioned into playing that game most of my time
*cricket*
1.2 is my pick...axe, for the month.
...
K I'm all out. Been playing it with Phoenix, Cornelis, Rainer and Psycho alot recently.
-
Recently? Hmmm.....
Payday 2 (The hell is stealth?)
Terarria (Blood Moon on hardmode... nope.avi)
FTL (warping on top of a sun.... where's chem spray when needed)
Space, Pirates, and Zombies (It's in space with pirates and zombies. Does more need to be said?)
Burnout Paradise (Hmm... good ol' takedowns)
-
Terraria, good game me and a friend have been playing a lot recently.
FTL, where be my Chem Spray!?
-
Guys i have terraria but have NO idea what im doing on it tbh. Anyone willing to show me sometime? i randomly fell into cave and found a godly boomerang. I just keep using that because my pokey wooden sword doesn't do well :/

I've just started discovering this game myself, though I've been playing a lineage of Hardcore characters. So if serious face survival mode is something you want to do shoot me a PM or add me on steam.

Would totally play FTL Guns of Icarus.

Muse should totally make a game similar to FTL, they could use factions and locations from adventure mode.

This game may been talked about way too much, but I've been playing GTA Online more recently on the PS3.

Finally got my Planetary Annihilation beta key like three weeks ago, so if you're wondering why I've been less active on the forums it because of... no not really, I've only had time to play like 3 matches yet, but from what I've played so far I'm really liking what I'm seeing. As a huge fan of Total Annihilation, I've always been hoping for a sequel. I did try the SupCom games, but I never really fell for 'em. I don't know why really, maybe a mix of the annoying UI and the general flow of the game. But yeah, I do feel the mechanics of TA in this, and along with the massive expansionism and battles (totally unlike SubCome eh.. kay maybe not), interplanetary fighting and nuking everything out of orbit, I'm pretty psyched.
The only thing I'm missing really is the Big Bertha's, but I guess tactical nukes and laser-beam satellites will have to suffice ;)
Also bought Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, which I've only had time to mess around with the character creator so far, but I'm hoping to get some time to play it soon.
Lastly, I also stumbled across this cool little game not so long ago. It's called "Super Hot", and it's probably your best bet at ever achieving that matrix-dodge feeling you've always wanted in a game. Basically it's a regular FPS, just that time only moves when you do. So once you see a bunch of bullets heading straight towards you, you can just release the keyboard and take your time to make the best decision as to where you'll dodge. You're probably gonna need to as well as there's gonna be a lot of bullets flying in the later levels.
It's on unity web player so I'd recommend anyone to try it out for themselves: http://superhotgame.com/
-
Super hot. Super hot. Super hot. Super hot.... yes a very good game.... some MM have decided to rope me back into Minecraft again.... many sleepless nights will be had
-
I've also been pretty curious about Planetary Annihilation, It's been a long time since i've seen an RTS game that really interested me, I can't wait to play it at some point, even though i was never remotely good at RTS games.
-
Me and a friend of mine are really interested in Planetary Annihilation, we really want to play it...
-
Yeah I guess it very much comes down to whether you prefer the macro- or microing aspect of an RTS. PA is very much about the macroing, mass producing, expanding and forever outbuilding your opponent. But of course (like all RTS) it's still a mix of both.

Yeah that could definately be fun. Been wanting to try that mode were you play several players on the same team. Then perhaps the expansionism will be more feasible :))

Has anyone tried out X-Rebirth, I know it's been out for a bit but how does it stack up to previous X games in it's current state?
I've been following X: Rebirth because I'm interested in it too. I haven't played the game, but to put it lightly, the community has been... displeased at X: Rebirth. Take a look at the community discussions (http://steamcommunity.com/app/2870/discussions/). I know that some of the previous X games have had rough launches, but supposedly this is much worse than those. Egosoft has been releasing quite frequent patches, though, so maybe it'll be more playable soon.
I've been playing a lot of Civ V. I won with a cultural victory, but all the AI were being really mean to me and kept denouncing me so I've decided to steam roll them with my giant death robots. Take that, Attila and the Iroquois guy!
Fact: Hiawatha (Iroquois guy) and Catherine of Russia will always be dicks.
Fact: Gandhi is the biggest dick of them all.

Yeah, the remaining civs were those two, Atilla, and a Viking. So I guess them being dicks is expected.
Gandhi being a dick (especially with respect to nuking you for no reason) is actually a jokey reference to the first Civ game, where a bug lead to Ghandi being incredibly aggressive.

I always found Civ IV to be better, especially with AI... No denying that V looks amazing though.
Diplomatic victories all the way though.

If anything I would not believe most of what the steam discussions say, mostly because it's reached a wider audience, anyone here played any of the previous X games have any opinions on it?

I've been playing with swords for a couple days in chivalry.

I am playing plenty of games. I own over 200 games on Steam and I am trying to finish them all, but mostly I am playing Guns of Icarus Online and Team Fortress 2. I am quite new to GOIO, but I guess I will stick to it for a long, long time... Seriously, it ruined my life in a positive way.
-
I do have a similar problem. I have a huge interesting collection of games yet i mostly end up playing these multiplayer games over and over again.
-
Over the past month I've played through Skyrim and The Last of Us, the latter of which was incredible (though Skyrim was excellent too). After that I moved on to the handheld games in my backlog—I'm around 70% of the way through Zelda: Spirit Tracks now, and then Fire Emblem Awakening and Pokémon X are up next.

I recently got back into Sim City 4, how I miss that game.

I would use my steam for other games, but my Steam wallet's drier than desert scrap with extra flamers.

I would Play SWTOR more, except that Half the time I use a computer, I'm on my Mac, and I unfortunately don't have parallels or VMware Fusion (Or BootCamp) on my laptop as of now.
-
I play Civ V and Minecraft often, and sometimes Don't Starve and Audiosurf when I'm bored and I was playing Alice Madness Returns but then school happened and now I recently downloaded Alan Wake and L4D2 in this PC so I'm playing that sometimes too! [*happy face*]

I play natural selection 2. Both very cool-looking FPS games with an often-overlooked layer of strategic depth, absolutely reliant on cooperation/teamwork (tiny bit less for marines). Also, you can fly in both games. However NS2 is a lot more difficult to play initially because there are no tools to learn (like novice matches, CAs) except built-in outdated tutorial videos, and individual fights are paced in milliseconds. You also aren't constantly running around next to each other, so it can be harder to teach people. However, nothing beats the feeling of gleefully sneaking up on an oblivious marine, or the rush of chomping down an observatory just before a beacon finishes, or forming up in the vents for a massed push on nanogrid.

Planning on picking up Dwarf Fortress, anyone ever play it that can give me a tip or two? (Or maybe 10)

I just started the Titanfall beta. It's not bad. I don't know how much staying power it has though.

How effective is the sidewinder (basically a bolter from wh40k) against enemy pilots?
Titanfall looks like such an amazing game, it would be perfect if it didn't have the stupid aim-down-iron-sights thing. Amechanic that stops you in your tracks like that has no place in a game with this much freedom of movement, it breaks the flow of combat up a lot.
-
I'm currently playing 'The Banner Saga' and so far I absolutely love it. Aesthetically it's gorgeous, the story is great and the strategic combat is engaging and challenging.
-
I have moved on to MechWarrior Online, where the heavy weapons are feared and light weapons require skill to overcome an enemy.
Send a friend request to myself, Pzychodude and Captain Phoenix if anyone else wants to pop in for a visit. Its free.

Space Pirates And Zombies 2 has been announced on steam, and skies as my witness do I want it.
