Gameplay / Re: Flyable Icarus

For those of you who don't know you can actually play as Gabriel and the Icarus in the game, Flight of the Icarus. In the end of the game you play a survival mode called into the breach witch is Gabriel's final battle. Regardless the Icarus falls burning to earth, not kidding you actually see the Icarus falling burning from the sky. So I highly doubt the Icarus survived. Gabriel though may have survived, although the GOIO takes place 87 after the destruction of the Icarus, So Gabriel probably would have died of old age before GOIO. Ether way, The history tells us that after his supposed death, People went into the same city that Gabriel constructed the Icarus in. Its said that they found the original plans for Icarus. So my point is if the Icarus did return, it would be a reproduction of the ship not the original, however this would make much more sense, as since the Icarus was the largest/ most advanced airship to be used since the great war, It would be believable that by this point in time, people have the resources to recreate an Icarus class airship. If the ship did return I think for the sake of not creating loop holes in the story they would be new models of the ship. This would also allow the world to have more than one of Icarus class ether as roaming boss ships, or cargo ships we need escort. Ether way the Icarus has huge potential to come back in the adventure mode (or even better PVP)

sorry my comments are so long, i have a lot of things to say

I would honestly like to see the Icarus, if it was put into co op mode as escort mission. Seeing as how it was a cargo ship to begin with, regardless I just hope it makes a return in PVP or co op somehow.

If we are to see the Icarus return to the skies I'd suspect it'd be in the upcoming Co-op mode as a faction less boss ship before anything else. Muse I think did say they played with the idea of having a game mode involving a ship with a larger then 4 man crew. Maybe that'd be a mode to have such a large ship like the Icarus in.

I get what your saying but I never mentioned having more than 4 four men in the crew of this ship. It may seem hard for only four men to run this thing with that many hard points but if you have Flight of the Icarus, that's how it worked although its was four men manning guns and repairing as there was no pilot needed. But your right it would be difficult to put this thing into a PVP game due to how big it is and its  layout but hopefully it will somehow show up in the adventure mode when that gets released

You all know the story of the Icarus, Gabriele's journey, and the death of them both. Many people have said this but the Icarus could be implemented into the game with some tweaks, If it was added This is my idea of how it would work. The ship itself would have A high turning speed due to the four light engines, but a below average forward speed. Also somewhat poor altitude control.  It would have somewhat high armor and HP, not as high as the Galleons but still strong. weapon wise, it would have four light weapon slights, two on each side like the original ship with the forward two slots have a more forward angle. The large platform behind the helm above the cargo bay would be heavy weapon slot with ether 360 degrease of fire or 180 degrease facing backwards to keep it from being OP. Icarus originally had another slot on the bow witch could be used as a second heavy weapon slot with 180 degrease facing forward. to keep the ship from being OP the front gun could be switched to a light gun or removed all together. As for hard points, in Flight of the Icarus the ship had an air pump near the front on top deck acting as the balloon hard point, this hard point could stay, Also in flight of the Icarus, another hard point labeled rigging was located in the center of the ship on the top deck near the balloon pump, this could be easily switched for the Armour hard point but may need to be moved so the balloon and armor aren't to close together. For engines, in the game the ship had two walk ways below the cargo hold leading to two of the light engines, so these would not need to be changed. The main engine cannot be reached however a drive shaft connected to the engine or something similar could be placed in the now useless cargo hold acting as a hard point for this engine. the other to side engines can also not be reached, they could also have some sort of drive shafts that lead to the lower deck, these engines could also be moved higher on the ship to allow access from the lower deck, They could also do what they did in flight of the Icarus where if the two small engines that can be reached take damage, the other two would also take damage, aka the engines would be linked and in both repair and damage. a few more things to rap up on, the ship would have a somewhat high ramming damage, nowhere near the strongest but above average. The main perks of the ship would be the fact that it would have at lest one gun covering every direction, meaning that no matter what why an enemy ship attack they would be getting hit, the downside being it would be hard to concentrate fire. Also the ship would have a very very large balloon like in the original game making it very easy to hit. Lastly, due to the layout and shape of the ship deck (depending if it stays original) it would very easy for the crew to switch positions quickly.

recap
above average armor/ HP
above average turning speed
below average forward speed
poor altitude control
6-5 weapon hard points
5 engines, 4 light 1 heavy
easy access hard points
360 view of fire
difficult to concentrate fire

Thank you for reading through all that text. I have no way to begin digitally redesigning the ship myself this was mainly just to show people how the Icarus could be used in the modern game, and feel free to tell your ideas of how the ship should look, I was simply trying to keep the ship as closely related as possible to its look in the first game
