Hello Ladies and gentlemen, We are going to be helping run the new tournament ''Hephaestus Challenge''
It is in the works and we want to involve the community as much as possible, we have the name now we need logo ideas, This is where you come in
In this thread, post a design/art of your idea for the logo, Hephaestus is a greek god wiki link found here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hephaestus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hephaestus) put your own goio twist on things make it your own.
The winning Logo artist will get a reward from the store,
All entrants are welcome, share this thread with friends, I look forward to seeing what people come up with ideas are also welcome to get peoples brain cogs turning.
Entries will run from the 28th April closing the 10th may

Any easy way to find the logos? I've been looking around but can't seem to find them :\

Just on the community events itself, i.e sky league announcment thread has the logo sunday rumble saturday box social, when you click on them to sign up you see the logos, and also the clan logos people have made are in the sign ups, but as of yet there is no easy way to locate all the logos for tournaments and clans,

Legend:
Mallet and spanner - main engineering tools. Keep every ship alive. No crews without both ever noticed on current game balance. Also mallet is a reference to name of Hephaestus, greek gord of ironworks and crafting.
Lightning - reference to legend about Hephaestus, who made lightnings for Zeus in his workshop.
G / I - Guns of Icarus monogram.
Top hat - supporting speampunk atmosphere in laconic form.
Olive branch is optional.

Phototshop is too expensive and mainstream, I switched to sai.

I say 1.3 and 1.4 are the best out of Tanya's collection.
The G's and I's in these circle are just not enough to resemble "Guns of Icarus", however this is where 1.3 and 1.4 succeed. Your font, font alignment, image placement and color; it all reminds of the original "Guns of Icarus"-Logo and thus reminding everybody what this "Hepheastus Challenge"-thing is for and about.
The circle is certainly nice and is a nice idea, but what did you have in mind for that circle? To look pretty? It vaguely reminds me of this leaf crown that the old greeks used to have on their head, but that's it.
As nice as these look, Hepheastus also stands for fire, lava, some metal that is glowing hot in the process of being turned into something new. DrPanda has visualized this very nicely, but then again, that is a picture and not a logo...
What I want to suggest to you, Tanya, is: Bring that Fire into play for the logo. Even though the color is a nice choice, it lacks a second one. Currently it's a dull logo, missing that something extra to make it complete, that something extra to make it hot!

it's the right ammount of steampunk with the colours, mytholgical hint with the typography and yoou got some fire in there. with an engineering tool!

But really now, I actually like it. It gives of a certain feel, you know? More excitement! MORE EXCITEMENT
However, it appears less Guns of Icarus related. The colors are the same, but it looks more greek-like to me than GoIO-like.
I would take it...

this is pretty good and usable.
maaaaaybe move the upper and lower lines closer to the middle
make the mallet and spanner smaller. just a bit. and move the wings closer.
make the G and the I melt with the wings.
make a circle or O around the spanner and mallet.
lose the lighting bolt and the top hat.
there i made a crappy paint version, could you try doing that with. you know..
your fancy stuff? :3

like the works by Giuseppe Arcimboldo (I want you to search his works for reference),
so I used an anvil as Hull, pliers as cat walk, hummer as main engine.
But i don't know why my work became too much simple one like company's logo or Japanese Kamon.
Maybe It is extract of my image.

Honestly, nothing has given me more confidence about this league being able to work than this thread. All the artwork in this thread has been fantastic and has introduced me to the amazing art scene this community has.

As always Pechka this is a really nice peace. I remember learning about this artist in school. We all had to create a portrait using the style. I remember painting a fisherman using fish parts.

Dutch, I know we are good friends but I have to strongly disagree. Sammy's undoubtedly takes the lead. +1 for dedication which resulted in the masterpiece it is today.
