I've never gotten hitting on people over the internet. I need to see someone to be able to hit on them.

...Heyyyyyy.

I concede. That looks like it was actually... you know... art'd.

But for now it can help to build a database. Then machines can take it over.

Freedom of Expression is good, but this isn't exactly a public forum. It's a private community limited to players of the game.
Yeah, people should be able to say what they want, but they should do it in their own communities or in a public forum.

I want the option to choose what I am exposed to.
It requires careful judgement, and yeah, you can't police 100% of incidents, you'll eventually have to pick your battles.
But for now, I think we're doing a good job with positive reinforcement and community cultivation.

--Fleet dock--

The sound of the explosion echos out over the city.
Plasma stops in the middle of organizing the rest of the crew, and glances up in the direction of the rising smoke.
He frowns, calling over his shoulder to the other men.

Plasma
"Continue loading the ship. I'll be back when you're all done."

He jogs off down the streets. Intuition screaming at him. A man in a cloak with a slash on his arm passes him.
He cannot spare a glance for the man, but he notices the cut.
People should really be more careful around here.

--Outside the Saloon--
Plasma surveys the damage and guardsmen.
The bodies have been collected in the street, and a car is being pulled down the road.
He shakes his head.
They must really want the Commander. If they were able to blow the door, why wouldn't they follow up with more explosive? Or did they plan on taking him alive...?

He gives Nidhogg a nod as he arrives, moving through the wreck of the door and saluting the Admiral and Commander, observing the formality of his position.

Plasma
"Is everyone alright? It almost looks like they hit you with artillery. Got the bastards though? Guess this is an example of Elite marksmanship."

Jun'ko
"And Admiral marksmanship."

Plasma chuckles. Of course, he'd heard rumors about the Admiral. Impossible to surprise under the worst of situations.
He looks around the Saloon a bit helplessly.

Plasma
"I suppose there isn't much I can do, but if you need anything before I depart... I have to make a last visit to the administration building. I can forward a message if you like. I suppose there is no chance of a last drink?"

He shrugs, looking mildly disappointed.

God DMax.
So lazy, literally took me two seconds to find.

Shink, I've PM'd it to you.

It's on! I may have to actually launch my dusty old copy of Photoshop instead of Paint.NET!

Your move, Spoon.

I remember he advocated the use of Tar Barrel too.

"It's actually a lot more powerful then people think!"
Since then I've had my off-and-on love affair with it. In CP matches it's lulz.
I think being able to talk to Bubbles really raised the profile of the game for me.

I'm Plasma, and I think I'm an addict.

It started off small. I'd only play with my friends, and not really talk to the 'randos' on the interwebz.

Then I started being not terrible. Then I found the forums.
I think I've played more than I've worked this week. I've gone from a meager 60 hours, to 90 hours in the space of 5 days. Not even sure how that physically fits together.

And now that I've met so many cool folks, I don't think I'll be leaving anytime soon.

I know a bunch (or maybe just some) found this game at PAX only a few months ago.
Others encountered a steam sale, and decided to pick it up. I did both.

I'm just a bit curious, how did you first hear about/see the game?

To be fair, this is an air-navy, which could have it's own advancement structure. But let's be honest. I'm going 80% by 'sounds vaguely like a rank' here, and the other 20% by star-trek.

(and maybe I'm cool enough to get a double promotion. Or maybe all the senior officers died)

As BrdLine approaches Althea, Plasma does all he can to prevent himself from chuckling. This involves choking on the first half of his drink, and entering a little coughing fit.

He's gunning high that one. Going after an Elite, and a stunning one at that. Good luck.

He shoots Yiski and Althea a reproachful look.

Plasma
"Not all of us can be so lucky in love, you two. Sometimes it takes practice. And a few slaps across the face."
He ducks the Elite's glare. And Yiski begins his 'story'.

Plasma listens with rapt attention. Almost forgetting about the drink in his hand.
He finishes it as Yiski concludes his little tale. Plasma finds that he only has more questions about the Mysterious commander. He bats them away.

Plasma
"Well, I'm a bit new around here. Technically, I'm subordinate to the Admiral and Commander, but it's in a sort of round-about way. I'm a Lieutenant in the fleet. Or at least, a branch of it. Until recently it's been quiet. Import/Export detail and guard duties. We shouldn't even be up for the guard, but recent events... Well, I suppose it was lucky I was. Anyway, I ship out tomorrow. Top Secret mission and all of that. But it'll be nice to have sky under my feet again. And I'm sure it's not nearly as dangerous as the Captain says... I've only just found this saloon you see. I'd like to continue visiting..."

He sighs. Asks for another Hellfire and sips it moodily.

Plasma looks nonplussed. Taking a pull from his own Hellfire.

Plasma
"A sword? Granted it's a pretty one. Is it some kind of ancestral treasure or something?"

He eyes the object curiously.
