The Docks / Re: The Gentlemen Are Recruiting!

Hey all, I just wanted to offer a brief explanation for the less than ideal circumstances that transpired earlier today, since I think more than anyone, we owe one to you.

First and foremost, I think it's worth mentioning that I consider the Gents to be at the forefront of Guns of Icarus and I have nothing but respect for your clan and its level of competitive play.

Unfortunately as some of you know, it was tough scheduling our match as many of us were playing on extremely tight schedules.  The match was delayed 15 minutes as we waited for the organizers.   We did begin the match but unfortunately the streamer asked that we surrender the match in progress, though we had already begun battling, due to his recording software not functioning (there may have been disconnects as well, but I hadn't noticed any until after the match was surrendered).  Some of your players were struggling to reconnect and it became clear after considerable time transpired from our initial start time, that we would not have enough time to play through all of our matches before several of our players needed to leave for work.

At this point our level of frustration at the organizers was extremely high.  We had spent dozens of hours preparing for our match and it was clear that your team had as well but due to organizational issues neither of our teams would be able to play the game we'd been preparing for tirelessly.  Though we would have really liked to schedule another match, the Paddling in its current form, due to real life issues, outside and unrelated to Anvalan or anything else in GOI, will no longer being competing in GOI.

It's clear to me that you were within the top two best teams in GOI, and I wanted nothing more than to determine which of our sides was the best.  The chance to see who was the best was stolen from us, but to me at least you guys are now the best team in Guns, and I look forward as other teams try and prove otherwise.

Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Respectfully,

Smollett

Thanks Smollett for your notification and letting us know of your futures and also your reasons for the less than ideal circumstances today. I am sorry to hear that the current Paddling will not be around for us to have a match, I am sure it would have been interesting. I understand that many of your members were in Australia for example so I can understand the frustration coming from the match. But these things sometimes happen and Urz worked hard for this competition, it would not be kosher to dismiss his hard work for this set of circumstances that he could not control, and were not his fault. But I can see you were under a time constraint.

Thank you for your honesty, it has been a pleasure keeping you in our minds when practicing determined to reach the level you are at. I hope your members find solace in real life events and take the time needed to do whatever needs to be done.

All the best for the future.

Best Wishes

Feast on Thrones

Byron and Feast prepping for Saturday's match.

Oh Yes. We got lots of practice in hunting ducks. This is what I made with our catch. I think Paddling is numbers 6-10

Sorry the Top Hat with Glasses, OUR Top Hat. With the number 1 above it! Must be the Gents. It is our symbol, our emblem. I don't see how you could possibly argue against it. I think the fact they are cakes mean that cake get some, a small slice of gratitude from muse, but the majority has to be us Gents. :D

Happy Birthday Guns Of Icarus community, Muse and the game itself. How excited I am. I know we Gents are all thrilled, especially as the cakes onboard all the ships are in our honour. With the Gent's trademark Top Hat on the top of the Cake, just where it belongs. Our symbol onboard every ship triumphing our great culture. It is great to finally have the recognition from Muse whom we have worked tirelessly with to make this such a great game. We wouldn't be so audacious to take credit for the changes made to the fabulous game; but we humbly accept this token gesture from the Muse team. I hope you all enjoy flying your ships and eating your cake knowing your Gentlemen Guardians are with you in spirit onboard. The Top Hat Cake has immortalised us.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: More Costume Slots

I feel this thread is becoming farcical. It is most certainly not a farce. It is a slight upon us Gents. Denying our right to wear our monocles, whilst smoking our pipes or having to shave off our beautifully manicured moustaches is a slight on our honour. I really do hope that his is sorted. The combination of these attributes will make us look more Gentile, more dashing than we already are. These unfortunate events have really taken a personal tragedy in my life. My teacup will no longer go anywhere near my bald upper lip with my pipe sticking out of the corner of my mouth. Without this rush of endorphins from my tea, I am becoming a plebeian. Please Muse sort this out.

MasX I would love to be part of the B team. I would hope to fly but can do whatever in practice. Hope you had other good games yesterday after you left the lobby I was in. I was sad that you left but can understand that without a competent ally its tough and dull.

You should be careful. This is like somebody going into a bank and asking "Is it all right with you guys if I just reach into this guy's safety deposit box?" :P

Hmm.  I like the metaphor so thank you. Well if needs be I will change it. I have no preference. There is a story behind the name, and thats the only sentimental attachment I have to it.  I haven't had any complaints thus far though.

Remember when at the start of the match the wind would rush by your ears as you plummeted into an endless nothingness, and then onto your ship

I would say that if you feel confident then anyone can in theory be the captain and not the pilot. But  I am a big supporter of the captain being the pilot too. I agree with everything Sasha has said

Good evening Gentlemen.

I would be most interested in joining the Clan that seems for me personally to be the only option. You Gentlemen caught my eye and if the teachings of etiquette and refinery apply to your sky conquests then it would be a dream to collaborate with the top brass such as yourselves.  I have been playing GoI for a while on and off, but would like to enter Cogs and other competitive play. I am UK based; have skype and microphone capabilities and am always eager to meet new people, work in a team as well as help other people in the name of civilisation.

I would not say that I am 'good' by any means, though perhaps a Jack-of-all trades master of none, and adequate. I enjoy the feeling of flying the ship, but am equally at home fixing things. Though I have spent the least amount of time as a gunner class, I usually jump on the guns as an engineer hence the disparity in levels. So to reassure you, I am able to shoot things out of the sky.

I hope that this fulfils all that is required. If you care to know more about me, or would like to enquire further please do not hesitate to ask. This is my first post on the forums, but you can contact me via my steam profile if you would like:
