Unfortunately, I designed this before I knew I would be able to also make military vehicles in the future, so this one doesn't have guns at all and I didn't want to make an identical one for my military vehicle. I tried to make a Spire for my military air vehicle but it wouldn't let me put long horizontal pieces vertically. :(

Hold alt and you get a dial that lets you to pitch/roll/yaw rotations, I think? Or does that not work? Gosh it's been forever since I played spore.

These RoboCraft adaptations look sweet. Sadly I'm only in T4 there and I don't have much resources to make any airships.

Since this is where most fellow Robocraft players seem to be it's where I'll drop this...
Although the guide is out-dated now.. (Pre-medi-gun) It's still a fun read and may come in handy for some!

As I learn more about guns I am working towards writing a similar for the world of Icarus, however there are some incredible guides existing for guns already!
Anyhow, I have started a Goldfish in Space Engineers, just working on getting the scale right and finding the time outside of life and other games :)

So, I put this Spire replica together while the Robocraft servers were down (building still works since it's all client-side). It's as accurate a model as I can make within the constraints of the game (it completely fills the given building space vertically), although there might be some small errors. Weapon placements are approximated; it's supposed to have a heavy flak, two Mercury field guns, and an Artemis launcher (represented by T8, T4, and T2 SMGs respectively). It actually flies too, as opposed to low altitude hovering (although it's far from being a good combat unit).

Indeed. On the off time I play as a pilot I usually use a Spire... in GoIO it's almost, if not quite, as fragile as this one.

It's tier eight, due to the balloon being largely filled with T8 helium (higher tier helium provides more lift per CPU, and with lower tier helium it just refused to fly - even with the T8s it's a little heavier than air and needs a pair of concealed thrusters to gain altitude). Using T1 armor in T8 is... not quite optimal. Maybe when I have more CPU available I can switch it to use a larger number of T4 helium blocks to bring it down to a tier where it won't die to ten SMG hits, maybe T5 or so, that way it can properly snipe with the T8 SMG.
I had intended to have it use rails, but alas they were simply too large to mount while still retaining the correct weapon placements. I could have gone for plasma to imitate a heavy mortar/hades build, but ended up keeping it as it is since this is the configuration that I actually use.

With the T1 armor it really IS just as fragile as the real deal! That's hilarious! It's a shame that the rails didn't fit, but oh well; Lifes a beach. ;D

Get me a picture of the inside. Once I level up and have more CPU, I'll make one, and then maybe platoon? heh. The armor would work also with t10 blocks and the balloon of them canvas colored t3 dwarf blocks, if you have them. I made a squid a while back also. The gun mounts are in the traditional places, along with the other places visible, on the balloon, as that was designed with the pilot's seat enclosed in it.

Goldfish I made in Spore when my computer went down. I believe you can find it on Sporepedia with "goio" tag. Lumber(?) front, Gatling sides, complete with turning engine and main engine.

Keep trying to do a goldfish in Space Engineers every once in a while, but I keep getting the scale wrong and it takes so long to do..
Maybe I should try in creative mode next time, not survival...
