Just noticed it says: "SMAC (Suicidal Maniacs and Crew)"

Just "Suicidal Maniacs and Crew" is fine.

I always loved it when people guessed what the name stood for and we would respond with random acronyms, but I suppose those days are no more.

Update for (Suicidal Maniacs in Traning) MIT, it's no longer a thing. We never ended up using it, so yeah. Plus the new clan system. I'm pretty sure I can't be the leader of two clans...

Oh, and SMAC is still here (At least I am). I'll be done with school in a couple days and if my internet isn't as bad as it was a few months ago, I'll be able to play regularly again. If it is, I might be able to jump into lobbies and talk, but my connection will be too bad for actually playing... Ugh...

[Edit]: also change the last SMAC entry line to read:
Recruitment: Members are hand picked. There is no recruitment thread.

Hmmm... The e-mail has the wrong information compared to here. I sent you a PM about that. This does appear to have the correct info, though.

I'm currently the leader of SMAC, not Spasmic Monkey. The MIT clan idea was a bit of a failure, so I'm dropping that.

So, where can I read up on the details for how the clan names work. I've been out of the loop for a while because of school. Do officers have the ability to let people into the clan, can they kick people out? Can an office be revoked? Can the leader and officers see who is in the clan so if a rogue officers lets in some stray dogs, we (leaders or other officers) can solve the problem?

That clip is amazing, but some people thought we needed the "Suicidal Maniacs" part not just the Maniacs, so the name is changing to JSM: Junior Suicidal Maniacs. Since no other clan is using it, I might let MIT be an alternative version for members who wish to use it as long as things don't get too confusing.

Heads up that the name of the daughter clan will be changed from MIT. It *may* be JSM, but we'll see what the other Maniacs think about the name before I lock it in stone.

The Docks / Maniacs in Training is open for recruits

SMAC is now closed to people who ask. Instead, we will direct you to to MIT (name subject to change).

MIT is SMAC's daughter clan. We are looking for people who are both skilled and enjoyable to play with. Details regarding this will come later as things are decided.
Recruiting may be slow due to time restrictions on my part. In the future, there will be other people who can accept recruits into MIT.

For those who wish to join, post on this thread using this format:

GoIO: Guns of Icarus Online name
Steam: Steam name
Class Order: Order of your skill in each class, from best to last.
Etc: Anything else you wish to add.

This post will be continually updated as more information becomes available.

It appears that SMAC will be joining the fun.

A few months ago, I had an idea for a story involving Guns of Icarus (Online). I've only found success in writing short stories. The original idea I had was too long and I decided to scrap it. I heavily revised it into this story: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-H1GXxRQgCJa_NDthp7Vul6fCW-QyPkNM5LiF4nabjQ/edit?usp=sharing

I just finished it tonight after talking with Spasmic Monkey about how I probably would be writing some after that match, but how it wouldn't be this particular story. It took me ~2.5 hours to write the ending (from the battle after the first ships' death).

I'm not sure how it actually is as I've previously been terrible in just about every English class, ever. I can't write essays to save my life, but some people have expressed interest in some of my short stories, so I figured that I might as well post this one for critique. I do plan on revising this story on my own, maybe expanding it a little. I do want more interactions between characters. Maybe some detail of what the engies are doing.

P.S.
If you like seeing behind the scenes stuff here is the copy with the failed starts and the pre-story notes (and the old title). I generally have more notes at the beginning, but these characters are kind of generic. I didn't give them as much personality as I would have liked to, but hey, it's more or less done now...
My writing style seems to produce a ton of cliched, terrible and cheesy starts (I have an entire doc somewhere about my writing style...). You can ususally find them at the end of the page as I push them away to be cut from the final revisions. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hj6ngUsnfRPhevp9yT1NYC1ZsV_ISgE2QG0xs0oTi2A/edit?usp=sharing

1. Ok, so it says that all collectors editions of Adventure mode will get a "thank you" in the credits. ("All backers receiving Collector's Edition copies will get a Thank You in the in-game credits.") Is this a general thank you, or a specific one with our names? On the chart Complete Adventure comes with the CE Adv, but does not have the "thank you credit" checked like the Kickstarter text would imply.

1b. Does this also include Skirmish Collectors editions, too? Will those be added to the Skirmish credits instead of the Adventure mode credits? If this is the case, will Complete Adventure include credit in both?

2. Also, would it be possible for me to swap the button and the poster from the Complete Adventure (EB) level for a cloth map?

3. Is the costume choice* from the current costumes, or will it be from the costume selection at the time Adventure Mode is released? Could I choose when I select my costumes? I would like the second partly because I have almost all of the costume sets I want already and I would want to wait until Adventure Mode to choose them.

[Edit: *the costume choice is from the Collectors Edition variant of Adventure Mode]

KE - Kickstarter Edition
KE Skirmish is the current game with the Dust Rider costume.
KE Adv is Adventure Mode with the Dust Rider 2.0 costume.

KCE - Kickstarter Collectors Edition
KCE AM is Adventure Mode, but with some extra costume selections.

KS in game tag is a tag (presumably visible to other players) that denotes Kickstarter donators of any level (except purchase of KE Adv only, apparently)

I think that's all of them.
