Thanks man. I feel that having to endure the pain we went thru a few months ago I do not deserve to be punished yet again.

Feedback and Suggestions / Flayed Hills
« on: September 27, 2013, 07:09:29 am »
For those of us that can remember Flayed Hills was a nightmare. The lag issues were abysmal, and heaven help you if someone was in a galleon, since that made the game play so slow it took almost an hour to complete a match. So my question is this. I already did this map achievement, twice (Gunner, Engineer). Now I see that the old Flayed has been removed completely from the “Maps” achievement and moved up the line. So why on earth am I being forced to do this again? Looks like the old achievement was replaced with the new refinery map. So again, why am I forced to complete an achievement I have already done?

If this has already been addressed somewhere else please let me know.

General Discussion / Re: Raising consciousness for "stacking" !

I play with just about anybody myself. I do get frustrated when a new Captain has no concept of what their weapons do, ie.. using a lumberjack as a battering ram, and should they choose ignore my advice I just leave them to bask in their ignorance after the match is over. But I do enjoy helping out the underdog when I get a chance.

Of course on the other end of the spectrum when Phoenix and Pzycho are online I will play with them, so whoever shows up in on the enemy team is on their own.

I got it. We went into the sandbox and saw what we needed to see. It took about 5 minutes. We did the same thing with a galleon so the pilot coud get a visual of where they need to be. Its called putting a little effort into it, Its been dumbed down enough, I mean we even have gun movement with a lochanger round. Easy is boring.

OK, we can make it even easier then. Buy a mic and use these simple phrases.

Need left rotation
Need right rotation
Target to high
Target to low

The solution to this one is easy. Its called sandbox and memory retention.

Well in defense of Muse, new or not players are assumed to possess the gift of literacy. So if it says long range then use it as such. If you’re in a Captain spot as any other class you failed. If your 100m away with a heavy flak, you fail.

Well using charged or burst you can get around 1300 meters max range, thats not a long range weapon, the light flak can shoot almost that far itself. If its in the long range category then make it long range. As far as your lochnager, even a squid can take a loch round and survive. you have to deal armor damage to get to the killing zone, which we all know a heavy flak cant do by itself, unless you get 4 or 5 shots off and the enemy team has some really bad engineers. I can tell you from experience when I see a ship with a heavy flak its on the very bottom of my target list, unless it has the rare individual who can shoot it well. Main thing to remember, anyone can be a superstar at 500m.

Well if it stays as is we still have a problem. I know the Captain achievements call for kills at 2000+m, That aint gonna happen unless you have the whole team with mercs and you happen to get off the kill shot. I know as a gunner I need 500 parts at 2000+m. So, when we all start to overuse the lumberjack will it be next on the chopping block?

I like using the heavy flak because it’s fairly difficult to hit with at range, even though I know it is doing nothing that a half decent engineer can’t repair before I reload. I use it now for one reason only, lochnager achievements, and that’s it. I get bored sitting on my flak and wishing I could hit target like my counterpart on the lumberjack, but I don’t have the range. Lesmok rounds move so slowly, so you can imagine using charged or something similar. It’s like watching a rock fall off the wall, it starts heading for the ground as soon as it leaves the gun. On a positive note I do agree with the arming timer, its just like a round from the M 203 grenade launcher, it needs a certain distance, and rotation speed, before it arms itself. I can attest to that fact as we used to throw them like footballs at each other and never got one to explode. Ahh, the good old days.

As far as the mortar goes its pretty much fine the way it is. Lets be honest most players cant hit crap with that thing unless your close enough to throw a rock at them anyway. And if your already on top of them why would you even want lesmok then, greased or burst is always better for that.

I guess my biggest complaint is trying to do these new achievements with all these changes. I cant see me getting anymore Lochnager and flak part destroys since the heavy flak is even more shunned for the moment. And please dont even bring up the light flak, would anyone really expect to do a lochnager shot with that thing . This has to be done without accidentally killing them, which in itself is fairly absurd. 2000+ m part destroys is still possible I guess using charged rounds, but I just truly despise talentless buffoons that sit in the corner with a mercury, so I have been slowly getting mine done with a LumberJack. I guess my main concern is all these achievements. It is no secret I like to get my levels, thats how I am, and could care less who likes it or not. The heavy flak is hard to hit with at range, even with the slothlike lesmok projectile. Just put 2 rounds back in the thing.

We all had to learn the hard way. No need to drum down the game for everyone, new or not.

Oddly enough, I have no issue with the arming time, that's what Lochnager is for. But one round of Lesmok is of no value as even with that round its still moves slower than an old man getting into a bathtub. I don't need it nerfed to make it easier to hit with, but at least make it worth using.

The mine launcher is fine the way it is. Heaven forbid someone actually has to put a little effort into practicing with a weapon in the game.
