Markers for ally ship positions

Is it a good idea to have some markers for friendly ships similar but not identical to those that spotted enemy ships get?

When I was new I found it very hard to locate my ally until I learned the compass also showed position of ally and their relative altitude.

This was my suggestion from a while back. Allies blink to 'signal' you. Enemies don't.

I like the immersion aspect!

Maybe if this idea gets approved we can even have red and green port and starboard lights!
