Whats wrong with the detonator mk2?

Seems its not working. The description says that it can be used against the hull and the baloon. if i fire it on the ship without the armor i see no damage to its hull, even when using the burst ammo. I see the hit marks but its heath wont decrease. Whats the right way to use that guns or is it a bug?

I haven't used it myself yet, but I heard it functions a bit dissimilar to the Detonator Mk1 in that it doesn't arm unless you Right Click (or whatever your Alternative Fire button is). I also heard that its explosion radius is relatively small compared to the Mk1, so it might not be too easy to use.

Description - Arming distance 100 m. Inside it look likes cut flechette to half and explosive to none. Right click not help with it for me, I think this is the way it should be. It more about direct hit gun, detonate all 4 shoot from clip with rapid fire is too frustating. Try lochnagar rounds. Sad, but it still have bad model, with it unable to aim on 500 m distance.
