Skirmish Content Kickstarter ?

<< < (2/3) > >>

HamsterIV:
I don't want them to start a new kick starter until they have delivered Alliance in a non Beta format. Having played the beta I am not particularly impressed. Yet it would harm Muse's reputation to beg for money before delivering on its last promise.

I don't think Alliance will live up to the grand vision Muse put forth in the Kickstarter, but it needs to exist because new players need some where they can play around before facing PvP games. We loose more players to noobs giving up before things get good than Vets giving up when they run out of content.

Tfaltys:
HamsterIV makes a very solid point but it's also just one more depressing bit of fact in the muse bucket of depressing facts... Alliance probably won't be anything like it's advertised but that said I think if they do manage to get Alliance out at all and it's not absolutely terrible doing another kickstarter later could still be an idea right?

Considering how much time I've put into guns and continue to do I'd probably pay the price of an AAA title game towards getting new content provided I felt confident we'd actually receive it. Hell I even bought the "Soundtrack DLC" even though I don't care and can't tell the difference.

I'd like to see (more or less in order of priority):
-new maps
-new game modes (VIP)
-new ships
-in-game interface for tournaments
-more community/interface content (like the addition of clan levels, that was great but more of that kind of thing. Something to facilitate clan colours, clan decals and individuality etc. Clan trophy displays like player badges? Clans are the lifeblood of guns so you know)
-aesthetic content (Pleease let us dye hair in any colour for instance. make broken guns look broken, and add costumes & ship themes instead of a new pair of goggles each month)

There. I give you my deepest desires and now I'll go back to my corner and cry about how we'll never have any of that.

Tfaltys:
At the end of the day I don't really care how it's done or what it takes, be it kickstarter or goat sacrifices under the full moon, I want new content.

Hoja Lateralus:
Hamster has a very valid point, period.

On the other hand, as we see in this thread, at least some members of the community would be very happy to take such offer, and I think this is the ONLY way to provide significant amount of content into Skirmish. As I said, I say kickstarter only because it comes to mind first, but it can be any kind of fund-raise.

The important thing, that some of you underline, is the promise that this money will end up as paying for skirmish content. Becuase many of the vets support Muse through buying things in the shop or whatever, and many times through actually buying extra copies and distributing them amongst their friends, promoting game. The point is - vets are not afraid to give Muse money and they do, but they don't feel output of content is proportional to they input (because Muse spends a lot on Alliance, I will never forget one of devs telling that the income coming from in-game shop is enough to pay for the artists team; but those artists work for Alliance, not for Skirmish). That's why something like kickstarter with steps and goals would make people more... well... more confident in giving Muse money.

Hoja Lateralus:
Matthew said that they are not going to do kickstarter for Skirmish stuff and that after Alliance is released, it will bring more content to Skirmish.
