Turning nerfs are out, something else will almost certainly be considered to replace them. What do you want to see changed about the spire.
-Nerfs to reduce its pub-stomping capacity
-Buffs to make it less vulnerable to hard counters
-Changes to other things made with the spire in mind
-Nothing, its fine or will be with incidental changes to other things not aimed at the spire
My take:
-Reduction in maximum speed, the ability to backpedal a long range spire or charge with a close range spire is a large part of its stomping capacity, forcing it to bring weapons for multiple ranges would be a good thing imo. ex a defensive minelauncher on a long range spire or a hades in place of a gatling on a hwacha spire.
-Increased armor, so it can stand up to a hades or merc for a while longer
-Removal of the armor components from the balloon hitbox area, the free AOE hits on both components with hades, lumberjack and banshee are too easy by far.
-Changing burst rounds away from being almost perfect Hwacha and Artemis ammunition. The spire suffers badly against both those guns and causes a fair bit of suffering with the hwacha. They would be more balanced and interesting if a choice of ammunition was required based on the situation and/or ship build.
-Slightly reduced heavy gun rebuild, they are easy to hit and tedious to rebuild, giving them their own rebuild modifier and reducing rebuild time to 80-90% would be an improvement.
