How did you go about getting multiple copies? Gifting to temporary email addresses? I asked somewhere else, and was told you cannot buy multiple copies of the steam key on one account.

That was probably me saying that, (On the Facebook on GoIO, you might recall the name Leon). What I did was buy multiple keys and gave the direct link (In my mail) to my friends :) So you don't actually activate the key on your own account (Which cannot be done, indeed) but you just have it in your mailbox and it will wait there to be activated by an unique account. :)
