Though he was a ditz, Koali genuinely wanted to help pay for the extra booze. Hence, he was able to get a surprisingly good price for the pickpocket.

(Koali): "Okay, I got the money!"

Carn:
(Carn) pockets the cash "Good. Go take a shower, your starting to smell." slides him a small mug of coffee "But drink this first."

Koali:
Koali gave the coffee a wary look. Why would Carn be giving him caffeine?

(Koali): "Why are you giving me coffee?"

Carn:
(Carn) realizes the effects coffee would have on the already hyperactive creature, then quickly drains the mug himself "Thought that was tea."
