Slight rework for a Galleon

(1/4) > >>

AlienOvermind:
I know this ship has it's role as an amazing sniping support in 3v3 and 4v4. But I believe it's too situational. This ship really need some changes towards versatility.

And I think that the problem is not it's stats, but it's weapon mounts. So, I'm thinking about this layout to be better suited than the current one:
- lower deck: one heavy weapon and one light weapon on each side;
- upper deck: one light weapon facing forward and one light weapon facing back.

I.e. something like a fatter Junker — with less mobility and more firepower. So, do you think it would make Galleon better or worse?

BlackenedPies:
The galleon is a broadside ship that has no need for front or rear guns. The rear gun slot should never be used as an offensive weapon, and it's not enough as a defensive weapon- put a flare there. A rear gun is useless unless all engines are broken.

One light and one heavy gun is not enough to compete with the damage of 3 light guns (junker mobula) or one heavy and two light (spire). The galleon needs all 3 left side guns to be effective. The right side is generally for close range defense.

This suggestion would make the galleon a lot worse. It doesn't need a front gun and needs to be able to shoot 3 guns at once.

Koali:
Also, the proposed rework is nowhere near slight.

Richard LeMoon:
The rear gun should not be used as offensive? Posh. Gatling Galleon Moonshine Buttram all the way. I don't put flares on any of my ships, actually.

The only change I would personally make on the Galleon is one more light gun mount in the crow's nest on the right side of the ship.

Carn:
That would give the thing a use, wouldn't it?
