Nah their heavy grade steel, something thicker then an umbrella.  Plywood shield might do it.

Well, getting on topic, it would need a crazy amount of crew members- the bigger the size means  bigger weight which means more balloons. More balloons are harder to repair, hence you need more crew. also, I imagine reloading is a two man job. Perhaps you could have 2 hull hardpoints that share a large permahull. That'd be a nice idea there. Then again, crew size.
