Well, I've heard that early planes had a tube and funnel that led to the outside of the vessel. Apparently difficult to use under duress and/or if you were a lady. Some bomber planes would just use bottles or disposable boxes, then throw them overboard when done. Which gives a whole 'nother meaning to 'dropping a load' XD

Silly little story, when bomber crews were first given boxes of chaff to toss out of the plane to scramble the enemy radar, they peed on them before tossing them. Due to the altitude, they basically threw solid blocks of metal at the enemy.
When they were told what it was for, they started using it properly.
