RP Tavern Quest: The Catacombs

Carn:
(Carn) "Koali please, I'm asking nicely. Putting pieces of scrap together is one thing, but making armor and weapons out of this stuff is another. Have you ever forged a blade? I worked as a smith before i joined the military. You cool the metal to quickly it becomes brittle, liable to break. You cool it to slowly, and it becomes to soft, as well as acquiring impurities. From the little bit I've read of making this metal, its a delicate process. It'll require exact measurements and exact timing. Then turning that into a tool of war will require more skill."

(mind not breaking the lore I'm trying to set here? I'm not saying Carn won't show you how to make it, but breaking it right off the start is kinda rude)

Koali:
Ah, yes, my apologies. Can I still keep the boat?

"I'd never trust myself to properly work with a new material without training... But when Songsteel is in thin sheets it apparently behaves similarly to normal steel. I bet Nestor might enjoy this, too."

Whenever I overstep my bounds (as I undoubtedly will do so in the future) I'll need to make sure to get you to get me back in line. My chaos and inconsistency need to be kept in check, or else things will get too... Well, chaotic and inconsistent.

Carn:
(Fair enough, i don't mind a bit of chaos, but i like some consistency in plot and lore.)

(Carn) "At least you have that sense, as with any metal, the thinner it gets the easier it is to bend. Give me some time to work this and I'll show you how. Though I doubt you have the strength for ships armor. This stuff isn't as heavy as steel, but it requires a lot of muscle to bend when it is thick. As Ingur said, in a test Bloodsong took a .50 caliber armor piercing sniper round at 100 meters. It didn't leave a scratch. If it was heated properly, then it would have undoubtedly warped the metal. Anyways, thank you for carrying this stuff. If you don't mind I believe there's enough space behind the tavern for me to build a forge and smelter."

(Inugr) finding a schematic she calls over to Shaded "You asked about schematics right? Well this one is for a complex and accurate watch. Supposed to keep track of the date as well as the time. Useful in many ways, particularly to a trader with a busy schedule."

Koali:
*Pulls out the wooden hammer.*

"Do you think that this could be used as a shaping tool if it's reinforced?"

Carn:
(Carn) grabs the mallet "Not nearly enough weight, or length. Those hammers that you stored should be able to though. Unfortunately, they were only of the size to make personal armaments. I'll need to either make or buy the hammers needed to make ship armor. I should be able to forger one, but for an anvil that size I don't know."

(Ingur) "The hammer head alone, would need to be at least 20 pounds. An anvil big enough for that...... I don't want to think how heavy that would be."
