What if...
When hull, balloon, and engines are all broken, the helm is also broken, and the pilot is kicked off?
But nah... I'd still want to be doing drogue chute or something...

What if...

When all engines are down, the pilot is kicked off?
Oh wait. That's called the common sense of leaving the helm to fix stuff when there's no point in piloting.
