Other games about Airships.

Omniraptor:
I have been semi-obsessed with airships ever since I devoured that series of books at an impressionable age, you know the one.

Miyazaki movies didn't help much either, the dude loves huge flying machines (iirc he grew up next to a ww2 plane factory) and is a great writer/animator too. There are a few promising games out there being developed, but you have to dig for a bit.

Anyway there was this one game looked really nice but development speed/clarity makes muse and adventure mode look fast. I.e. don't expect playable game in the next 2 years at least. The concept art and scant gameplay demos look really pretty though. http://20000above.com When it does come out it will be glorious.

Of playable games (in early access) I haven't played either of these two but they look fun already. http://zarkonnen.com/airships http://store.steampowered.com/app/268650 , both let you design and build your own airship.

Also I'm pretty sure some GOI folks have fooled around making semi-functional GOI ship replicas in robocraft. Reviews for the game are mixed though. http://store.steampowered.com/app/301520

p.s. if there is ever a GOI meetup we will have to play sky galleons of mars, it's a naval combat tabletop wargame and I've heard amazing stories, but hard to track down.

David Dire:
Definitely going to check out 20,000 above and Airships, thanks Omni!

Also, the airpower game looks quite fun.

Can anybody tell me if this is a reliable download/someplace else that is reliable to download it from?

It reminds me of Star Wars Battlefront 2, one of those old games that can still stand up.

Kamoba:
@Omni: I'm friends with a couple of the robocraft dev team ( Age ofnEmpires 2 lan parties ftw!) and it is a good game, just avoid the community!
Though I think their artists are taking too much inspiration from Lego "bionicles" but you know, target market and all that disappointing jazz..

Lydia Litvyak:
It's nearly 20 years old and never released outside of Japan, but Velldeselba Senki will always be rather dear to me

The airship designs are great:

I tried to get Archriel to play it a while ago but he never did ):

Richard LeMoon:
I have been considering getting Windforge, though the lack of multiplayer is a drawback.
