It was derivative stuff. f'(x) is the derivative of f(x). In other words, the y-value of a given point on the graph of f'(x) is equal to the slope of the graph of f(x) at that point.
The post I made was meant to use what is called the Power Rule, which states that the derivative of f(x)=xn is f'(x)=nxn-1
So if f(x)=7x2+4, then f'(x)=14x+0. (The derivative of a constant is zero)
Thus, f'(1)=14(1)+0=14
