My very own GOIO videos.

What can I say? Only "thank you" for pointing out my mistakes. I'm just learning how to fly, and how tools exactly affects my flying. Actually the last time I was a pilot (before the end of december and free time, when that video was recorded) was before patch 1.3.8, when I was considered a novice, in novice pubs.

With introduction of 1.3.8 the game decided suddenly, that my 3-3-3 levels are now 7-10-8 suddenly ended my reign/getting things to know in novice pubs...

So I appreciate every constructive advice.

Edit: Actually I suffer from attention deficit disorder, and I must say I find controls for flight confusing sometimes. I suppose it'll come with practice.

Well, I am slightly below you, but Hydro should be  for escapes/following escapes/when you wanna uppercut ram/really need that height advantage only, and Moonshine should be for GTFOing or ramming.  You can also use it for when you just wanna go really damned fast, but it will out damage your engis.

You do turn better the lower the throttle, too.  Bullets are affected by movement, so if the weapon isn't hitscan/ray cast, then slow down for that, too.

Skrimskraw:
try hard or die hard ;)

looks like you are having fun playing. thats what matters, not excessive use of hydro unless you give your engineers insomnia thinking about balloon repairs.

if you want some advice on hydro, stay low and use it to gain height advantage for gatling or other downwards arching weapons. I you fly at a high level you reach the map height too fast and cant "dodge" with it, every experienced pilot will expect you to use hydro when your hull goes down, so making it impossible for his gunners to hit you is important. lots of pub and also competitive gunners will waste a lot of ammo trying to hit you even when you are out of arc/range, its a usual weakness that many ships have.

another trick with hydro is when you see an enemy with half broken baloon, you know that he cant follow you up. So you can use it willie nillie without breaking a sweat.
We used to do a thing with blenderfish where we would put 1 shell into each enemy balloon in order to let our pyramidion have the height advantage on both enemies.

Arturo Sanchez:
Heres how you learn to use tools correctly.

Don't use them at all first (from old lvl 1-5 I never used tools and merely won over and over with skill).Internalise all the limitations you notice as you fly without these tools.

This way you know EXACTLY when to use the tools. I mean... when I join a ship and the noob captain ragequits. I can easily go 1 v 1 with most pilots as an engineer, because I know exactly how the ship flies and position exactly as I want.

Tools are not my crutch, they are my tools. Without them, I can still do what I need do.

Alexor Huxley:
Hey man, forget all these folks ((except Skrim) I mean, their advice is good, but the spirit behind their advice is lackluster!). You got the number one rule right as far as I'm concerned: have fun. I've seen people criticize the tactical disadvantages of an all-flare Mobula, which of course is a joke in itself and needs to criticism.

Well done. I was greatly entertained by these videos! Would watch again. xD
