Pilot's don't need a Spyglass. They need a crew with ears and eyes!
Crafeksterty:
Above ^
Pilots dont need spyglass like engineers and gunners dont need pilot helm tools
So as a pilot bring all 3 helm tools while your engineer or gunners are given the spyglass.

You can always help out on repairs as pilot, just make sure the ship is not going into any place you dont want it to.
Ask in chat if your crew can hear you through your microphone before you start yelling at a player who cant hear you.
Click on the ship name you are crewing for in lobby to see the current set up of the ship you will be crewing on.
Best engineers have awareness of what is going on outside the ship to better expect oncoming damage and pressure.
Best gunners have good practiced prediction of the enemies position, armor and aiming.
Best pilots have good role management to better fit the ship as a killing weapon.
The gun missed the shot because the ship turned, the ship turned because the side engine was not repaired,
the engine got hurt from something the gun could prevent if it did not miss the shot.

This. It demonstrates that EVERYONE has a hand in success or failure of a ship. Salute.
