Silly Ideas That Would Break the Game

Self destruct button on the ship to suicide doing heavy damage to enemy ships and making it so they do not get the kill on you.

Charon:
Man-portable Pit-bull launchers: Launch pitbulls onto the decks of other ships. The pitbulls will then chase crew members around and eat them. If you'd rather, you could just aim for the hull and try to paint it with pitbull.
Boarding, complete with Pirates! style cinematic swordfights.
Tar-throwers: Dragon's Tongue style tar launchers. Shoots a stream of tar that then clouds up and sticks around. It's important to note that this would only be slightly more effective than the OLD flamethrower.
New ships requiring 15 crew members to effectively maintain, due to vast size and multiple hulls, balloons, and engines.
Pets that provide innate bonuses to certain components. Eventually, these pets get their own spin-off minigame, in which they scour dungeons wearing ridiculous gear in order to retrieve hard-to-find parts for your ship.
GoIO goes RP only. In order to register a character, you must submit a lengthy back story and follow strict naming conventions. Additionally, if you don't play at least 5 hours a week, your account will be terminated, as your character is assumed dead.
All damage dealt is now determined via dice, and all matches must be overseen by a community ambassador, who will roll the dice personally.
Plasmarobo:
Add a second helm to ships. Like the second brake in a learners car.
Lets the gunners and engineers grab the wheel when the captain is about to slam into the magnetic terrain.
