A gun that creates a steam cloud when fired. This can be used to create soft cover, conceal your position, shake spots, or blind your target. (Blind as in hard to see. Like how ships are hard to see in clouds)

Yea, can we get a few more "particle" weapons?

I think the ideas I've seen so far is:

tar smoke gun,
water gun  ,
and this steam gun.

They would give the gunner a role in running away. Currently, the game lacks a weapon to disengage, and any of these weapons will be interesting.

So, sort of the opposite of a flare?  Neat idea, but if you're trying to escape to cover and make a steam cloud, I'm fairly certain the enemies will realize you are in the cloud that just came from your ship.  I suppose if the cloud were big enough you could use it to get behind hard cover or into another cloud without them knowing which direction you went.  Anyhow, I like it; let's do it.

There are too many clouds already. We need more hard cover. You can't smash the enemy into a cloud.

I think the Ixion would shoot particles. And it does smashy things.

My  versions of this is that the cloud prematurely detonates and destroyes any projectiles that go through.

I came up with a sonic gun idea that would do that awhile back.
