New Ship Idea - Torpedo
« on: March 29, 2013, 07:58:38 pm »
Another ship idea- yeah yeah, don't judge me.
Once again, I am a terrible drawer, so I used Garry's Mod as a medium. The gun on the front is a light-sized weapon, and the left is medium-sized. The brown block under the Helm is the Hull. Everything else should stand on its own symbol-wise.

The Torpedo is a light ship with the highest top-speed in the game, but has average acceleration and very poor turning power. It has a weak balloon, and a moderate amount of hull health. The two engines on the front act as propellers, while the main engine in the back pushes.

This ship would be used for strong strafing runs and distance-closing maneuvers. Whatdayathink?

Err, the ship looks like it has a side mounted gun and a rear mounted gun (not forward mounted) going by the images. Is that right?

I think it's first non-pusher prop ship proposal we've seen..

The ship moves forward in the direction of the two engines. It has a forward facing gun, and a left facing gun.

This ship has some really cool innovative ideas. You should give it another light weapon on it's right side to make it really tactically intriguing.

I considered adding more weapons, but I balked at it- would that make it too much like the Goldfish?

Reminds me of the stabber in EVE online, was the fastest cruiser type vessel.  Man, loved getting up to speed in this baby with nothing but pixie dust and happy thoughts keeping it flying.

I thought about the fact that it would have similar weapon mounts but the ships would perform differently enough that they'd still be unique.  It seemed intriguing to be able to do I light light bifecta and a light medium bifecta on the same ship.

I suppose that is true. Because of the ship's low turning speed, it wouldn't become very unbalanced.
