The Bards have Cracked Boarding
« on: October 02, 2014, 11:25:28 am »
Not sure if anyone's done this before, and I'm partially making this post to find out, and also to let you guys know that: Yesterday, a group of Bards and Co. have found it is possible to board other ships. I haven't heard of anyone doing this previously, but basically, if you pull 2 Junkers up along side each other on a certain angle, and at a certain altitude, it's entirely possible to board an enemy/ally ship before the game pulls you back on your own boat.

Again, sorry if this isn't new, but even if it's not, I want people to be aware that it's A) possible and B) In the game's coding

EDIT: Other people have done this, so... If you didn't know about this wholly useless tidbit, great :D Now you do. If you did, sorry about that  :P

I...

ok?

I mean I'd kinda have to see it to believe it, but... I really don't think that's "cracked boarding" if the game does put you back on your own ship as much as it is some combination of ship collision and hitbox mechanics >.>

Seems like something that should be more under bugs category than gameplay.

Whoops. Don't post here often, sorry about that. And as far as not actually cracking boarding, I guess I agree, but it's the closest we can get to, at least to my knowledge.

(p.s. if you want me to show you, I totally can. It's actually pretty cool.)

and? I allready knew this... and?!
Like... whats the point.

Ive done it before, jumped onto another ship just by flying over him and jumping off. Only got a very small glimps of it (fell thru the baloon onto the hull) before blackout.
Other than that. You wouldnt be able to do anything within the ship. There isnt coding for that. Your character is always moving with YOUR ship, not the enemy ship or terrain (Once did the junker thing on terrain. When i jumped on terrain i was still sliding back with the ship even though i wasnt on it), but you can still touch the terrain/ship.

There is no point for boarding other than braking the game completely.

Personally, I thought it was pretty fun. It doesn't serve a practical purpose, but I've never see or heard about it before and it seemed pretty interesting to me. I've been able to walk on terrain, but I figured it just wasn't possible with ships and was pretty psyched when I found out. Sorry it bothered you so much :P

Wait what! other people don't try this? Me and my friends where jumping all over each others ships when we first started playing, there just really isn't any point to it.

Why do people on this forum always give such a negative reaction to people having lighthearted fun?

In this case, I was just mostly confused why it was put in the gameplay section.

And maybe a tiny bit of issue with the click-bait esque title, too ;)

There was a time before my time, that if done right, you could actually jump to another ship and stay... I'm not sure how the falling was done then but it was different to now.

Also, moving this topic to a more suitable subforum. It's not a serious gameplay discussion.
