Yes they were designed for them, because they're famous and promoted the game.

Same reason the Stephano Keffiyeh hat was added to the game when PewDiePie did a promotion.

You can design your own costumes, and if they will be good and accepted by community/devs , it may be named after you I think

It is fairly common for Indie game devs to make special items or even characters for famous personalities that promote their game. A game called AirMech will did the same when a famous Starcraft2 commentator did some videos about their game:
