I don't know if it is just me, but I generally don't watch the side of my screen for who is talking while  coordinating with 1-3 other ships, 3 crew, and trying to keep a 2 degree firing arc on a charging enemy.

Optional captain chat radio filters would be welcome.

Also, a better way of seeing where the voices are coming from would be nice, like ship indicators.

Eh, colors are much easier to read through peripheral vision than words, so it would probably still be an improvement.
