"The Cogs" Week 2 - Preview
« on: March 25, 2013, 02:35:25 pm »
Welcome back. Let's take a quick look at the updated Cogs board as well as who'll be playing in Week 2.

Should be interesting. Once again, the maps are going to be randomly selected three days before the event.

That's all for the preview. Stay safe!

And we at the Raft are looking forward to facing the Gentleman. If we beat them, they'll have fallen from champions to the upcomer's cog in three weekends :/

This totally makes me want to get the Gentlemen on-board for some pro-wrestling style call-out BS.

"SWALLOW! I AM! COMING FOR THE! CHAMPIONSHIP BELT! AND! NO! ONE! WILL! STOP! ME!"

Cue Captain Roy music.

Quick commercial break advertising such products as "steroids" and "not beating your wife".

I will most likely be around for this weeks Cogs matches to assist Swallow in setup and management of them. Make sure you have me added on steam and in-game to make communication easier.  Good luck and see you guys this weekend

choosing the maps at random means your could potentially have all three matches happening on the same map, or at the very least an over representation of a map from week to week.

but i really cant think of a better system, so whatever.

No he said in another thread the first he randomly picks the first one, then picks the second randomly from the 3 unpicked maps and so on.

Oh, I don't know about that... Here's a quote from a leading Steampunk Paleontologist.

"You see... Try to imagine yourself in the Steampunk Period. You get your first look at this "duck" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, because, well, it's a duck, and you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is based on movement like T-Rex – he'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not ducks. You stare at him, and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the side, from the other duck you didn't even know was there. Because ducks are pack hunters, you see, they use coordinated attack patterns and they are out in force lately. He slashes at you with this – a six-inch claw, like a razor, on the middle toe. He doesn't bother to bite your jugular like a lion, oh no … he slashes at you here [makes slashing motions below the child's chest] or here … [above the groin] or maybe across the belly, spilling your intestines. The point is … you are alive when they start to eat you. So you know … try to show a little respect."
- Dr. Adam Grant.

See you on Saturday!

A duck is a dinosaur, but much more evolved. Keep that in mind, people :P
