Dyes
« on: October 15, 2013, 07:39:21 pm »
Quick question as I haven't played for some months and am just getting back into things (ooo new stuff!). Wasn't sure which forum to ask it on.

1) Dyes have "charges" I assume? The ones I have acquired say "2" so does that mean I can use 2 instances of the dye and then it is gone?

2) I also assume that when you apply dye to a costume you own, it will always stay like that until you dye it something else?

I like the dyes.

I wish you'd buy dyes once and have an unlimited stack.
Because right now it's keep people from buying new clothing, like "If I buy this outfit I will also have to buy these dyes.."
And it's way better to sell more clothing than dyes.

You also unlock dyes as you level ^^

Yeah, but they are still consumables..
If this was any other company I would have found it greedy.
But since it's Muse I just buy a ton of clothing to support the devs.

Is there a way of reverting back to the default colours of an outfit without rebuying it?

Yes, there is a "clear dye" dye that you can buy in the store. It gives back the original color.

Muse gives away so much free stuff, that I can't take anyone complaining seriously when they say buying dyes is meh. You can preview it before buying too, as well as it staying forever and not some 30 day nonsense.

Having not messed with dyes, is there any way to undye your clothing? I am worried that I will make some horrendous fashion choice, and not be able to undo it if I can't find the original colors in the dye catalog.

Most of my dyes I got through unlocks, I think I actually bought a dark red dye though because I have 5 charges of it. I can't remember - I'd probably had too much wine that night or something.

I can understand some concerns raised - I think I'd prefer it if a "clear dyes" option was free. But overall I don't mind. Vanity items and stuff are definitely the preferred way Muse make their cash for me as it won't affect the game but still gives them another revenue stream to keep the game going and improving.

I was actually positively surprised by the amount of free dyes I found on my character when I first logged in after the patch. You need a certain amount of levels for such a variety, that's true, but I was prepared to spend a whole lot of money on colors that I liked, and when I logged in, I realized that I only missed like one or two, because all the others were given for free. Also, if one is not as crazy as me to change colors after every fifth match or so, but makes a wise and thoroughly checked decision instead, it may not even be necessary to spend any money on a cool color combination.

This needs to happen.

I already paid for the dye and I think it's enough to lose the that money value when I wanna scrap it, paying to do that as well feels kinda weird.

Isn't there an undo button right there in the customization screen?

That works only for dyes that you are planning to put on clothes (namely, it removes the preview), not for removing already used colors.

Edit:
If you have questions about dyes, just turn to me. I am a professional.  :P
