Sir Isaac Phillips

Yep.

Let's just talk about him, the man, the legend, the combo of Bill Nye the Science Guy and Davy Crockett, Sir Isaac Phillips.

I saw him mentioned in the latest lore news and I saw some commotion around the name in the forum, but I don't know anything about him. Why is he such a big deal? Is he a "community-inside-joke-made-real"?

That is the case. We had a thread called the "description thread" where one person would say something like "John Stalwart's Flying Boot" or something, and the next poster would come up with an explanation of the thing. I forget exactly what it started as, but Isaac Phillips turned out to be this madman inventor guy who did a bunch of stuff with airships and rockets when combined together, and also invented a massively buffed version of the squid, and was, like a proper gentleman, never to be found without a teacup, even when in a coma in the blast crater from a failed... experiment.

I'll see if I can dig up some history on him.

"Inventor of the squid, Sir Issac Phillips was a daredevil inventor. Originally designed as a pleasure craft and speedboat, the squid found new use as a combat vessel when Sir Issac Phillips fitted it with 76 guns and crewed it with 100 people. This worked extremely well, until the sicknesses the shipmen carried started spreading out of control. After that fateful trial run, the squid's guns were reduced to 3, and now only carries 4 crewmembers."

And then it continued. We need to start that thread up again.

The description thread?

But who remembers him in the Rocket Race with his tea cup Chippy where he won second I believe in distance but somewhat crashed further on.

He crashed into, and discovered the Dresden Commune, what a mess that was.

Don't forget his nemesis Doctor Alister Grendel

I should like to point out that both Sir Issac Phillips and the Pirate King are orphans.

Thank you very much for that super informative post.

Get to work creating the rest of the script. I didn't say you could stop to talk.

Just think, if Spaceman had continued we could have had a Pirates of Penzance GoIO edition
