And perhaps chemspray will be viable again?

And perhaps chemspray will be viable again?

Why isn't it already viable? Ever since the change to extinguishing on cooldown was made chem spray's been a better fire tool than the extinguisher, particularly on the hull and balloon.

I meant "more" viable. I never really use it because the duration is so short and i need to be doing other things than applying chem spray, and once theres more than 3 stacks of fire on something while i need to repair other things, it starts to feel useless.

About the new meta, i do have a certain feeling that this gun might have piercing damage, because those seem to be lacking and it might change up some of the really common weapon combinations.

Yeah its pointless. CD is far too long and even for small fires you'll usually lose the armor before the CD comes up if you are under heavy gat fire. Rest of the time I'm seeing greater than 5+ stacks of fire and it just isn't helpful to have chem spray.

Having someone running around perma chemming runs into the same problem against piercing weapons, or shatter weapons.

Chem won't be viable to me until it is returned to it's roots. 40% ignite reduction and the ability to spam it quickly. It wasn't as fast as extinguish but the 40% reduction was helpful but not OP. Extinguish still had it's place for the 10+ stacks.

I take chem spray with me when I fly a junker. It's fairly easy to keep the balloon perma sprayed from the pilot seat. Same with a galleon and spire.

This thread went from Magma Cannon, to Chem Spray usefulness. Chem Spray certainly isn't useless, when I see a bluish white hue on an enemy ship's component, I rage a little inside. It means I have to focus fire or tell my gunner to focus fire on a different part if I'm going burny.

But let's get back to the beauty that is the Magma Cannon. Can't wait for it ~

One final post on chem:

Sorry, chem spray is terrible. Great in theory though.

Nooooooooo. Remember when they changed it so you couldn't extinguish on cooldown? That changed everything.

Back to Magma:

Can't wait for the gun to hit production. Loads of fun to use... And magma/flak Spire looks pretty deadly.
