What did you name your ship and why?
Bartimaeus Fry:
Pyramidion - H.M.S Naked Wombat
Because, lets face it, Wombats are freaking awesome and the idea of a naked one is bloody terrifying. In all honesty, I have no idea where the name came from, it just poped up in my head.
Goldfish - The Doily Blanket
Because the Carronade Setup I tend to go with turns the enemy's Bloon into one.
Squid - Belle Shamhartoth
After Bel Shamharoth, an eldritch horror from the Discworld books. She's a Lady, hence the Belle.
Junker - Rubbish Bin
Shouldn't need any explanation, but also because I don't know how to fly one properly, thus a Junker flown by me definitely deserves the name.
Spire - The Surly Queen
After a webcomic I read, it just seemed to fit the ship.
Galleon - Sixteen Tons
After the song by Tennessee Ernie Ford, because she's a big girl.

Galleon - Negotiator
Because any time I get anything big I name it after diplomatic terms as a sick little joke. Negotiator is my favorite
Goldfish - Hornet
Since X3 I've always named fast, pointy ships the Hornet since I have Spheksophobia. I hope to make everyone have that fear when they verse me since it scares the heck out of me!
Junker - Rotting Pelican
Any die-hard Simpson's fan might get this reference. During a certain episode Homer is forced to become a member of a fishing boat searching for Yum Yum Fish. I need a life.
Pyramidion - Umbra Lamina
Back in Beta when the Pyramidion came out it was the most overpowered ship ever to hit GoIO. It had the second best tank, third best speed, second best turning and tied for second in firepower. Longside this it was also designed for ramming meaning anything less than a Galleon it would rip apart and against Galleons it would just get into its blindspot in seconds. Since it was such a close range, high damage and quick point object I named it the Umbra Lamina (Shadow Blade) since it was the closest ship to an 'Assassin' ship I could find.

Squid - Fried Calamari
Nothing really special about this. I always make jokes about turning Squid into calamari so I found it suitable to name mine as well.

Almost named after Austin Powers octopussy but decided that it may be a bit vulgar. so sticke with the pun. Squid-octopus get it?
Goldfish - Serenity
Have you every seen firefly? NO... go see it then come back
Spire - Woodwasp
A fictional insect from the edge chronicles. Because its a sniping ship that darts about but in close those manicores have a real sting.
Junker - Thar She Blows
Named because you cant catch enemy ships and watch as your teammates blow them up
Pyramidion - Ramming is peace
A peace ship equipped with guns that are not made to harm such a beacon flare guns and harpoons. (she still kills though)
Galleon - Destructor
You get what iyou see. Destructor my name destructor by nature.
