What did you name your ship and why?

<< < (53/64) > >>

Mod Josie:
As the battleships of the Royal Navy are often named after brave and honourable personality traits - I have endeavoured to name mine after some less valued flaws in the human psyche.
These names are subject to change - but I love them all the same. Each ship's name starts with the Call-sign VSS (Very Sugary Ship - as these are ships of the Cake Navy).
Enjoy.

Goldfish:          Abdicative - Skittish - runs from trouble.
Mobula:           Diffident - Shy - lack of self confidence.
Spire:              Circumspect - Wary - unwilling to take risks.
Pyramidion:     Misanthropic - Distainant - lack of trust in others.
Galleon:           Aristarchic - Critical - unwilling to accept blame.
Squid:              Pettifoggery - Squabbling - quibbling and annoying.
Junker:            Prevaricative - Untrustworthy - hard to ascertain their intentions.

macmacnick:
Mobula: Target Practice — large surface area, the wide frontal profile allows for easy hits.
Spire: A) Olympic Torch — Its like a Beacon, especially the balloon, and gets lit up easily.
          B) Jacob's Tower of Pun — Full of Puns and Fun for Jacob, as he gets to use a Lumberjack, along with shooting puns.
Squid: The Val Jean — Star Trek Reference: Referring to a Maquis Raider ship from Star Trek: Voyager.
Galleon: A) Egotistical Maniac — Referring to the ship's inflated personality-like feel, and has quite an attitude.
             B) Deluxe Paperweight — This version of the ship acts quite ineffective, or at least potentially will be, and as such is  basically a
                 huge, deluxe paperweight.
Pyramidion: Kobayashi Maru — Another Star Trek Reference: Referring to the Dismal chances of winning.
Junker: A) The Creepy Zuka Doll — A reference to the Codex of Zuka; Aptly named, as it it quite effective at killing (or at least injuring)
                 the enemy team's ships.
            B) 'Fatal' Attraction — Mine/Harpoon Junker; name comes from its attraction being only sometimes fatal.
Goldfish: A) Pastry Perfection — Being Cake-perfect, when I'm feeling optimistic about winning.
              B) Delta Flyer — Yes, another Star Trek: Voyager reference: As the Delta Flyer is quite fast in Voyager, this name is used in
Crazy King/Resource Race/King of the Hill matches, as of the need to go fast (using moonshine or kerosene) to get to that point

Mepic Von Shreck:
Jacob's Tower of Pun was amazing.

I've always liked the single-adjective names for ships.  So I picked the one adjective I admire most in others, and try to follow in myself.
It's also a reference to something else... That's all I'm going to say about that.
