I believe the current system in in place to make moderation easier. If a post is the subject of discussion with regards to moderation, then the potential offender cannot edit out the comments or wording that led to the situation. Jess or somebody else from Muse can correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Is this a new thing? I was able to edit my post yesterday.

Edit: I still can. Maybe it's time limited.

it is time limited as I can tell.

It's in regards to this thread: https://gunsoficarus.com/community/forum/index.php/topic,1379.0.html

I would have to get a ca to mod it every single time it needs an upate.

As far as I remember Simplemachines forum can be pretty flexible about giving permissions, maybe if you speak to an admin he/she can give you rights to edit that post.

This is a system that has been in place for a long time (it was there on the old forum too). After posting, there's a 30 minute window during which you can edit. After that, you'll need help from a moderator or somebody from Muse (usually the former) to make changes.
