A Free Item and an Apology for Any Issues You May Have Experienced.
Thought we'd class up the skies a bit.
We wanted to reach out and let everyone know what has been happening recently with some server and lag issues.
There are three main issues that have affected gameplay in dramatic ways over the past few weeks.
The first and most drastic was our server hosting situation. For the past two weekends Softlayer, the hosting company that we use, experienced a variety of troubling problems that have ruined the experience of the game (such as matches being dropped, disconnections, slow time, games not starting). Once we discovered these issues in our server nodes, we took the nodes down and alerted Softlayer to fix them ASAP. While we do not directly control these servers, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience and we're talking to Softlayer to guarantee that these problems never happen again.
The second is an assortment of bugs like hit markers not appearing, teleporting, and not respawning while falling off the ship. These bugs are on our end and we are 100% focused on squashing them and deploying another hotfix as soon as it's ready.
The third is framerate drop caused by flamethrowers. Since flamethrowers have become popular after the last update, the framerate drop caused by flamethrowers are more glaring. We've already received several reports of this. Like the above mentioned bugs, we are currently re-optimizing flamethrower performance so that the game can be played smoothly on a min spec machine.
We deeply apologize for these mishaps that have affected so many first-time experiences of Guns of Icarus and so many veteran players' weekend ritual of dirigible destruction.
As always, we will do our best to give you the best game experience possible. In the event that we can't, we will be transparent and forthright in explaining to you why.
Because of these issues, any player who signs into Guns of Icarus before next Monday will receive a free Revolutionary costume, both male and female. If you already bought the Revolutionary Costume, please send an email to GreyT@musegames.com and request any other item we sell in the store.

Training Days
Are you a new player looking to learn the ropes, or an experienced veteran willing to pass some knowledge on? Training Days is a group of helpful, knowledgeable volunteers dedicated to teaching new players about the game in a series of regular matches held throughout the week, in multiple time zones. Join the Training Days Steam group for training dates, or just look out for Training Day matches in game!
