Setting Ship Priority

A good crew knows their work and it’s not the Captain’s job to micromanage. That said, sometimes it’s tactically advantageous to direct everyone’s attention to a particular goal, and to that end, the Captain has the ability to set shipwide priorities.

Priority indicators showing Normal status

When a priority status is set, an alert is displayed to crew members on the ship. However, it’s up to players whether or not they want to obey.

You can tell what priority is set by looking at the status indicators in the upper right corner of the screen. The bullet is offense (gunning), the wrench is defense (repair), and the diamond indicates normal priority.

Basics

All Hands Gunning
This alerts the crew that enemies are nearby and that everyone should engage a gun to hunt them down. Press F2 to set gunning priority mode.

All Hands Repairing
Press F3 to set repair priority. This is an ideal strategy when you are disengaging with an enemy and want to make repairs before another pass. Sometimes you’re the one taking a beating, and you need to throw everything you’ve got into just holding the ship together.

Priority Normal
To return the ship to normal priority status, canceling previous alerts, press the F1 key.
